I think the problem either involves Hayworth's Christianity or his support of Bush and the war in Iraq and has very little to do with immigration.

After mulling it over (and after a very restless night of not much sleep), I think you pegged it about the war as the reason JD lost here. People here are strongly opposed to illegal immigration, but I find more are opposed to the direction of the war and whoever is backing the president on the issue. That is an evident pattern across the country, and was/is the #1 issue in this election.

I was driving through Tempe this AM, and I saw a huge JD Hayworth for US Congress sign at one corner. Above it, had a small sign attached, "Voted for the war in Iraq." I had to chuckle when I saw another sign attached to this one, "Please don't steal his sign, Harry!"

Hey, Fox News just mentioned that Rumsfield is stepping down. What do you know about that?

Hi ya, kstewskis!!!

I'm truly sorry to see JD Hayworth go, but that team of the democrats and MSM proved forceful. 365, 24/7 pounding of POTUS, Iraq and the GOP suckered too many voters.
