It is also accelerated the day that Israel will have no choice but to attack Iran with every weapon they have because once the American troops are out of Iraq, Iran will likely launch a full military invasion and take over that country. The thought of half the world's oil easily-recoverable oil supply being unusable will send the price of oil to over US$150/barrel and then some....

They might actually be better. Not likely, but it is possible.Gridlock is a wonderful thing.

NO! Say it ain't so!
And I also saw in that top-notch mag The Globe that Laura Bush will be filing for divorce after the first of the year! This'll probably put her over the top.

I saw CNN reporting from someplace where dems were gathered. I had to turn the TV off. I noticed that some dems are acting quite low key tonight. Tryuing to appear moderate and not so nut-quack-leftist as usual. Harry Reid was on FNC and was very low key. The Dims have learned that, in addition to MSM propaganda and vote fraud, they must completely misrepresent themselves as Conservatives in order to have any chance of winning election.

Precisely, lol, John Kerry and Nancy Pelosi earned the right to govern, the idiot Americans have chosen.
To: zarf
I'm not particularly convinced that the Republicans, including the President, even know where the reservation is, or what it stands for, much less that they'll get back on it.
But taxes are one thing they are usually on the right side of, and since it's taxes that enable Congress to perpetrate all the evils of which it is so enamored of perpetrating, then being more or less anti tax is a very great virtue.
OTOH, you can't spend like the Republicans do and be anti tax at the same time, at least not very successfully. But you are probably right that being openly in favor of tax increases, as Pelosi is, is a loser.

Reynolds was the one tiny bit of good news here. However, I do believe Joe Bruno did win against no opponent.

Some things I may agree with you , but on the other hand
the dems will screw up big time, meaning their liberal governing will cause a great national pain to us. Economy?
Home defense? Home security? Immigration? Free handouts?
You name it, they have much to screw up on, oh yeah taxes!
Remember, Hillary said "I will take your money for the common good." Now I wonder what she meant by that? Common Good?
Somewhere, with the dems in leadership positions, we will be attacked again, and the Republicans will clean up the crap they the dems put us in. Fuzzy balled democrats.

The GOP won't learn anything. They'll be the same old party, and will probably believe they lost because they weren't liberal enough.

Ok and? We lost the house... Look at this logical... They have oversight now... If things go down hill its not going to be on the republicans shoulders anymore. Thats the best way you can look at it. Thats it.. Open your window... SCREAM... Bang pots and pans... As if this was such a HUGE shocker. We knew for months now that we had a very good chance at losing the house. It happends every 15-20 years... guess what.. our 15 year ticket was punched. Why go nuts? it will wont change the thing except for rats to look at our screaming and tears and laugh at us. Not that im not upset but my feelings change nothing.. why give the rats more to gloat about.

Now looks like the Senate is going that way too...

I think that the Democrats' playbook is going to be "Bush screwed it up bad, but we're in charge and have the "international community" on our side again". So now we can wage this war "the right way".

It looks like I'm having good news locally. The leftist gal running for mayor of San Jose is getting trounced!!!!
McClintock also looks like he's doing well in the California Lt. Governor's race.
To: hispanarepublicana
As jacked-up and anxious as I was about this mid-term, I am feeling strangely at peace. I'm not entirely happy, of course, but I'm not feeling like its the end of the world.
"Madame Speaker Pelosi" still gives me the shudders, though! We'll see.
