Of course there is. But it the combination of things that climaxed tonight does not change, it will be a long time before Republicans gain the House back.
Republicans, from Bush on down, need to go strongly to conservative values. And the cut and run voters? They are immature, cowardly, selfish little punks.
Oh, and as far as Reagan's second term not accomplishing much? His speech of 1987 at the WALL was one of turning points of history. If he had done nothing else, THAT was more than most Presidents do in their entire time in office.
And Reagan NEVER abandoned his conservative values.
"I" believe that Reagen did indeed accomplish much...but many a political historian have opined otherwise due to the various "media" imposed scandals...Iran/Contra..etc..that overshadowed some of his accomplishments...as a coined phrased often used by political historians Reagan fell into a sophmore slump by their account...one for which I disagree.
Sadly, we'll see what kind of problems Nancy and her ilk kick up for the President...
"Of course there is. But it the combination of things that climaxed tonight does not change, it will be a long time before Republicans gain the House back."
It will be tough to win back many of the northeast seats in 2008, and if redistricting goes Dem, even harder...

It's our only hope, but it will look AT BEST like a holding pattern - 1975-1976 or 1987...
"And Reagan NEVER abandoned his conservative values."
Bush went wobbly WITH a GOP majority Congress, will he be any better than GHWB was with a Democrat one????
