I appreciate your thoughts on that and I'll agree too, to a point. When you don't protect the states against invastion though, it's tough to call a person principled, especially when they swore an oath to do so.
Frankly, if I understand your point, I disagree. The President resisted the popular call to close our borders dispite knowing it would cost him. What would have motivated that if not principle? But the fact is there have been no terrorist attacks on American soil since 2001. The President must be doing something to "protect the states." To be so strongly opposed to the President over this one issue is self-defeating.
