You think that a few posters on FR are at fault for this? Many of us here warned the GOP that they would take a beating in November if they didn't do something about illegal immigration. Not because we personally wouldn't vote for them but because it was depressing the base.
That is what happened. That is why illegal immigration doesn't even show up on the exit poll issues, the people that care about it, and there are tons, stayed home.
They will reap the "benefits" of staying home in short order! ;)
Good work! Now you can show Karl Rove who's boss and work with Nancy Pelosi to get "comprehensive immigration reform" (aka voter fraud in favor of dimocrats for the next 50 years!)
Guess what!? 12 million immigrants didn't show up overnight. They've been here since before Reagan's amnesty. Your 'critical' political issue didn't "depress the base" in 2004, but yet, suddenly it's worth handing over the keys to Nancy?
You're psychotic!
People wonder why the GOP has consistently been labeled "the stupid party."
don't kid yourself. The house was the one that was holding the line on illegal immigration. The Chamber of Commerce types are the ones who sunk the house. They wanted cheap labor and they eliminated those who were standing in their way. Of course, they're not always that bright, because the housing market is starting to lag and there are going to be a lot of unemployed illegals around.
