"Libs won because they made this election a referendum on Iraq. "

And the "genius" political hacks running the RNC these days let them.

It's clear the GOP did lose the base. Even if they did vote they split. There were several gay marriage amendment bans on the ballot that won big like here in Tennessee but it didn't help the GOP. Corker didn't get all those votes.

In 2004 and 2002 those cultural issued pushed the GOP over the top. Not this election. People of both parties and so-called independents just can't focus long term any longer and have become tired and just wanted "change" regardless of what that meant.

It looks like we are in for a complete flip in the House from 232-203 GOP to the same numbers with the Dems in charge. And I'm pretty sure the Dems won't treat the minority as well as the GOP did (to their detriment I might add - the GOP should have treated them like they got treated for 40 years; like crap).

It does look like Iraq is going to be the "conventional wisdom" for why the GOP lost. I hope Bush doesn't read that as a reason to change for change sakes and do things not in our interest. But frankly, I've thought he lost interest in really winning the war on terror for months now since we don't slap down Syria and Iran and pulled Israel back against Hezzbollah.

Twelve years and the GOP blew what it took the Dems to blow in 40 years. Sad. So much to accomplish.

I also think this was a sign when a lot of GOP members were afraid to touch Social Security when Bush tried to make it an issue. But he also failed because he didn't lead and just waited on Congress to move on the issue. Rove was wrong on that one.

It's going to an interesting two years.

"Why havn't the Dims solved the worlds problems yet?"

You do know their answer to this, don't you? Because of Conservative Christians. We stand in their way.

I hope he does. If idiots like him and Pelosi take the lead, we are in for good news in 2008.

What's the latest body count in the House? Are they getting to the 50-seat pickup we all scoffed at? At least I did :(

PS: Alaska is huge, wild, beautiful beyond belief, and right now it's 30 below zero. LOL We had -40 this morning and I"m sure it'll keep dropping again tonight. But still...it's heaven on earth.

They don't even need to think outside the box. They just need to be practical and grasp the simple concept that shooting yourself in the foot isn't wise.

To the sheeple, everything the dems do will be filtered through a fawning media.

Not always. They weren't able to filter the Carter years, and if Pelsoi has her way, not even she can hide behind the press.

Americans have forgotten how bad things can be. Ms. Pelosi's and her team will remind them.

It will depend on what precincts in those counties are still out. Based on the percentages and converting to raw numbers that would be a 30k vote edge to McCaskill. If these are the inner city that would probably take it towards 40-45k. The other counties should likely break Talent.

OK, so worst case now -- She pulls into a tie based on those counties -- and that leaves the 0% counties, which "SHOULD" trend toward Talent.

Republicans lost on the right issue tonight Iraq.

This nation will be hit eventually again. It is inevitable that this nation will have to stand and fight Islamofascism. Terrorists will not be able to resist the urge to strike us. Once this happens, the public will run again to the Republicans.

Um guys, I am counting Dem pick ups in the house that are actually in the bag by full vote count - and I've only got +13 net right now. Maybe 14. Republicans are taking one Dem seat in GA and 3 opens in MI, MN, and IL.

I'm praying, bray.

There's a lesson that God is teaching us in all this. We need to search and pray and try to find out what that is.
