I am deeply worried about the WOT.

The voters have voted to lose it.

That is the best comment I have ever heard. One step back, two steps forward. If the Democrats are truly a very liberal bunch, they are now completely unmasked. (I almost want them to win both the House and Senate to let them show their stuff and go to extinction afterward, but the stakes are too high with judges, although with Chafee gone we can be safe at 50 or 51 especially if we get a DINO or two to help us. Remember Nelson and Byrd - both re-elected easily - voted for Alito's confirmation and voted for the marriage amendment)

So, the President had best make the war in Iraq considerably more offensive

Not gonna happen.....

In Iraq, the 100% offensive is over, and has been over. There is now a political track, a humanitarian track, and light offensive.

It is matter of military and strategic necessity, not George Bush's.

Our enemy is not the Iraqi people, and the same can be said for Iran, Syria and others.

This is why it is what it is.

The only other option is to withdraw and wait. Then, after we have been trashed, we can respond against..............who.......where......what......how....

Geez......this sounds familiar....Is this not the same choices we were faced with after 9/11?

No, you may understand warfare, but you don't understand the nature of this current conflict that some call the war on terror.

It is really a war against a mist, or a fog of Islamic fascism that is scattered throughout the world.

No conventional military offensive plan can succeed with a enemy it cannot possibly differentiate from the resident cultures.

BTW, looks like we might hold the Senate by one seat.....maybe not.....

I'm afraid the American public has made a huge mistake, but perhaps they needed to make it.

I have already seen this mistake made once, and do not want to watch it happen again. If that isn't bad enough, the consequences of this mistake may well be far greater, but the fact is, that Republicans were given a gift and they misused the publics trust. The war is just part of it, it was more a retaliation for some bad behavior, coupled with a conservative ideology that the majority of the electorate will not accept any longer.

The moderates have been warning about this for years, and the best evidence starts with Santorum.

No, it's not just the war.

Allen is conceding.......

Bush doesn't have to do anything. Period.

"That's a 9000 vote difference with just 8% additional votes in??????"

If you look, you can see that they always add Allen's votes, and then Webb's.

Allen's did not change from the top figures to the bottom, but Webb's did.

Next time they update, only Allen's votes will change.

They have been doing it this way all night.

What I wrote in my blog :

Well, it looks as if Pelosi will get to run around pretending to be Queen of Congress and Democrats will get to gloat for the next several years. Fine by me. None of them merit much in the way of taking seriously anyway since they refuse to take the future seriously. Just one thing, my Lefties: when the next terrorist attack hits one or more of our cities, I'll tally up how many Democrats live in the area and sniff. More housing space for the remaining Republicans. I won't shed a tear for your sudden disappearance from this world. You deserve it.

No, this whole turn of events, I lay in the lap of the RINO/Rockefeller Republicans. You pissed away a chance. And yeah, I include GWB in that - never met a funding bill he didnt like, and didnt raise any protest at all as Republican chapters around the country threw the more grass roots activist conservatives under the bus in favor of the Country Clubbers. You and the rest of the Republicans made it clear you didnt think much of the Reagan Revolution that you rode into office on. And the RINOs in your midst were the popular jock who schmoozed his way into your pants, a far more interesting escapade than actually living up to the conservative principles your constituents hung their hopes on. So if any of you Republicans are crying into your drinks today, bemoaning the loss of the House and wondering if you will have the strength to do your duty in the Senate, I say : you deserve it too. YOU FAILED.

Having said all of that, you wont find me much deterred from me posting about conservative issues or declaring the world over. I know whats over and whats not. I cried my bitter tears waaaaaay long ago, right about the time when it was declared that the 1996 Presidential election went to Heck in a Trailer Park. Those tears are long dry now, and Im resigned to being small, in ways that the Leftards can't see. Im just going to sit back now and wait judiciously for any Schadenfreude moment that comes along when I can laugh at some Leftard's expression of shock when the shit really hits the fan. Ill just smile grimly, remind you that you have no right to shed a tear for yourselves when you hurt, and blithely paraphrase a certain Muslim rape advocate : "if you offer the meat, you get what you ask for."

"That depends if the Republicans run someone like Rudy in '08 - or McCain."

OK Let me go on the record right now! If the GOP Nominates McCain I am not voting in the Presidential Election.

I will vote for the other races but I cannot in good faith cast a vote For McCain or Hillary.

Nope just ain't gonna happen. I held my nose tonight in Ohio But I do have limits folks and McINSANE is that very definition of that limit!

They are just words. We legally did declare war. You act like those words alone would change peoples attitudes about casualties and decisions made by generals and bureaucrats.

That's kind of delusional.

FOX had Malkin on tonight speaking for the blogosphere. Malkin looked like she was going to throw up.

She doesn't speak for me. And even if she did, all she's a representative of tonight is impotence. One of the big unspoken truths of this election cycle is how much power the MSM still wields, and how little the bloggers have. (Notice how in the one big race the moonbats really wanted to win, the CT Senate, Lieberman annihilated Ned Lamont.)

No, I haven't heard that. Bill Kristol on FNC is pretty pessimistic on Missouri/Talent, from what I've been hearing...

Just heard Pelosi say they will create "The most ethical Congress in history."

Anyone remember the last clown who said that, and how it turned out?

We have to hold the Senate. Judicial appointments depend on it.

House margin matters as well. I'm not getting any reliable sense of how big the RAT margin will be -- MSNBC is saying gain of 29 seats for the RATS.

If there is a significant number of absentee ballots for Allen then this thing is still in doubt.
