"That's because the democrats are famous for stalling and reporting their strongest districts until the end.

It happens every single election."

What advantage could there be in doing that, unless there is fraud?

"new direction."

Seems those are the key words to win any election nowadays. Give 'em just a few years in office, and everyone's begging for a change!

Where are the real statesmen/women? Government may never see their day again.

He was in big trouble until Oklahoma City Bombing took place and he played it for all it was worth for re-election.

On the Ohio board I said earlier today that Taft should be sent to Iraq to test Saddam's rope.

"What advantage could there be in doing that, unless there is fraud?"

How else would they know how many extra votes they would need?

The good thing about this is if the Dems win the Senate too, we can blame them for EVERYTHING!

Hell, I'm looking forward to the fight.

With them in the majority, they have no excuses. None at all.

What's the saying: You get the government you deserve.

Then why do I keep getting the government somebody else deserves?!!

I think it is clear, based on the remaining votes in Missouri, Montana, and the result in Virginia.......WE HAVE LOST THE SENATE.

The only hope at this point if for some miracle of God in Missouri.

You are right. We lost everything tonight.
Not a single Dem seat in the House or Senate was lost. It was a total and complete wipe out for us.

My fear is that the pollsters will become stronger because of this. They knew this even though all of us was ignoring the signs. We kept saying that polls don't matter, but for some reason they were correct this election.

"The nature of the war we are in now is not offensive BY CHOICE, by Bush's choice."

Your post 5140 is very interesting to me. I know little about war, but I've thought for a couple years now that if Bush didn't find a way to defeat the "insurgents" decisively, invading Iraq could turn out to be a bad move. He hasn't found that decisive victory and it must at some level be a great encouragement for Al Qaeda.

My brother lives in TN and said he kept getting calls from the Republican party to go vote and even DW from NASCAR made a recording on behalf of the Republicans. My brother said the Republicans did a fantastic job of getting out the vote there!!

Talent's lead has shrunk to 3.7% - he had been up for a long time by 5-6%.

Here come the cities.

The Administration chose the strategy. They chose it from the moment they decided to not ask for a Declaration of War, which certainly would have made the war a highly offensive war.

Who would they have declared war on? Iraq. We beat them. Many to most of the so called "insurgents" are foreign fighters. The nature of guerrilla warfare is that small numbers of unconventional forces can tie down large numbers of conventional forces.

Only if we are willing to go after the sources, be they in Saudi Arabia, Iran or Syria (plus Lebanon and the Palestinian territories) of the terrorists. That includes their sources of funding.

We, as a country, do not have the stones for that, even though our military could do it.

....unless you made the same mistake I just made - that's Webb's name on top now, with the .08% lead.
