And sometimes it's not about practicality, it's about principle.

It will be hard for the donks to throttle back on all the vitriol they have been spouting for the past six years. I think they will have to continue as the "anti-Bush" party, and the faithful will demand hearings and obstructionism.

The joker in the deck, as always, is world events. A major terror attack could change everything.

The DemocRATs won't have a bullet proof majority and they have spent the last six years showing the Republicans how to use the rules of the House to stick it to the opposition and gum up the works.

NBC seems to think they will have 234 House Seats when this is done. That's fairly bulletproof.

They don't have to run a super conservative agenda, but they DO need to stand up and fight. Most of them are jellyfish. They cave in, apologize, step down, on and on, while the rats run roughshod over them and fight tooth-and-nail for everything they want every inch of the way.

Tonight is a disaster, there is no other way to spin it. I think we're losing VA now, and probably MO. TN looks decent, so this whole ball of wax will come down to MT.

Now I have to listen to Shepherd Smith's nails on the chalkboard voice. Ughh!

We have got to make changes and protests in the primaries, not the general election. I'm not certain there would even be much difference between McCain and Hillary... he is constantly changing his colors to suit the situation... in other words, a phony.

I think DU may have stockpiled some Prozac. Maybe we could borrow some.

Owning both houses of Congress is an anomoly. It wasn't going to hold forever, especially when the current residents don't know how to act as if they owned it.

Standing in the street holding a sign and crying our eyes out isn't in most of us, so we'll just have to start work tomorrow on '08.

As Ross Perot might say . . . if someone can figure out a way to regulate a form of media that can't even be restricted in places like Iraq and Afghanistan . . . I'm all ears.

A lot of the outcomes look geared toward amnesty, I'm sorry to say.

Yes, they are, aren't they?

I can't wait to see the candiate they'll come up with. Will it be Chris Simcox, Alan Keys, or Pat Buchanan?

And that is WHY we lost the House...the damned unappeaseables and the stupid Americans who pay NO attention to anything.

..and not to forget those damned Diebold machines. I knew they were rigged by the RATs.

Tonight should put an end to the "If the GOP would just run a real conservative, we'd win every time" rant, shouldn't it?

Bot for those impervious to reality.

"They've won the House and may win the Senate. They kicked our asses. What should they do - fold their arms and cry? They won - big time. We lost, big time. No need to whitewash or spin it. The sun will still rise tomorrow. We had a good run and got some things done and failed in others. The American public is polarized on both ends and squishy in the middle. Which way that squishy middle goes every 2, 4, and 6 years makes all the difference. This time they tired of hearing of war, corruption and perversion. Fair or not, this is what they heard and they punished those they held responsible."

Post of the night!

The history books will bear out that he was a good President for the country and the world.

I agree. If only he hadn't refrained from playing political hardball, his administration would have been more successful.
