Warning: What to Expect
Self | 11/7/06 | LS

Posted on 11/07/2006 4:29:51 PM PST by LS

All right, folks. Guess I have to do it again around here and hand out the chill pills.

1) It is absolutely clear to me that we have won this. We will keep the Senate, and I'm 90% sure we keep the House. We'll probably gain a seat, maybe two in the Senate.

2) I know this from the turnout numbers, just as I did in 2004. The fact is, forget Indies. They don't vote in high numbers. It's all about the two parties, and who gets out their base.

We have done that today beyond my wildest expectations. The info we have from the Hotline on turnout is overwhelming, and in virtually every key state, we have exceeded Dem turnout by 2, 3, 4, or 6%.

As I predicted, we are seeing a Dem UNDERVOTE. They are underperforming, esp. in key states such as OH. However, they are underperforming far worse than even I dreamed. We are looking at 20% in Cuyahoga County! Brown and Strickland couldn't get elected dog catcher with that level of support.

SO HERE IS WHAT TO EXPECT: THE MEDIA IDIOTS HAVE THEIR TEMPLATES. THEY WILL BE VERY SLOW TO COME AROUND. IT WILL BE A LONG NIGHT, BECAUSE THEY WON'T BELIEVE THEIR EYES.

They may even "call" a few House races, maybe a Senate race, based on some ridiculously low "exit poll" and have to recant later. Be patient. The turnout numbers suggest we absolutely cannot lose.

In '73, the House said, "No more money for the South Vietnamese, or for American military operations in Southeast Asia."

They can do it again.

If this is anything but a Dem blowout, I'm going to have a lot of fun with beyond the sea...

Why ...................... because in post 120 in response to LS’s prediction (“It is absolutely clear to me that we have won this. We will keep the Senate, and I'm 90% sure we keep the House. We'll probably gain a seat, maybe two in the Senate”) I wrote to LS, “LOL............ you silly fellow.”

Then in post 146 I merely kidded him, “You could use another crystal ball”.

Big deal. I wish he were right. This election is a very bad trip, a victory for ignorance and irrationality and to me shows that the old media still has the ability to influence enough indifferent and poorly informed voters. Nancy Pelosi, Screecher of The House -- I cannot believe this.

But people around here really get bent out of shape when someone doesn’t follow the “party line”. wolf24 told me I was “acting like a smug jackass” just for casting a contrary opinion. Darkwolf377 wrote, “Shut up and start your own thread”. Totally unnecessary behavior. That’s just lame and uncalled for. (jmo)

I love this Republic of ours. I hate that these Democrats are winning all these races. But the fact that LS was put off and some others were so nasty because someone mildly disagreed with them is not cool. In my opinion, that is one of the reasons we failed, because we seldom listen to constructive criticism or any disagreement of any kind.

So let’s just leave it at that. This has been a bad night for our country.

Let’s get organized tomorrow and attack the right people and problems in the future. All the silly internal bickering is unnecessary and a perfect waste of time and energy.

Let's get things straightened out and win in 2008.

Yes, how horrible that I sugegested you start your own thread devoted to your own thoughts, separate from a thread to which you added such intriguing analysis as "?" (entite post). Wow, that was GREAT.

You have fooled no one; you are like a brat who enjoys saying "Something bad is going to happen!" and then you get a sense of deep personal satisfaction from being "the only one who saw it coming." Fine, but to act like a victim when the "sin" against you was someone telling you to start your OWN thread so people like me could try to follow LS's logic, and youyr constantly irritating and useless posts were mere posing and posturing, is truly silly.

The post to which I'm responding proves it. Did you feel real glee as the final tallies came in and you went looking for the post of mine you cut and pasted? (Funny you haven't mentioned that you emailed me your whining, too--if you're so concerned with the issue of the night, why stop for a little side-show hissy fit?

You're not fooling anyone. I've never read an interesting post from you, to my recollection, but you're dancing a jig tonight, revelling in your "I was right! LS was wrong!" silliness.

Your idiotic, self-centeredness is embarassing. Your sentence is to be you, which is harsh treatment, but you deserve it for trying to make this all about you and your self-aggrandizing blowhard posts that elevate the debate not one whit. Only an idiot thinks telling you to start a thread all to your own snotty remarks that add nothing to the information stream here (“You could use another crystal ball”.--Wow! Thanks for sharing THAT gem!) is somehow wrong, and that you're some original thinker who "doesn't follow the party line" (you rebel!) when you're just doing the oldest trick in the petulent handbook--trying to disguise pissing and moaning as intellectual discussion.

The real problem is we should've built up much bigger margins since '94.

Totally agree with you. Now the mountain is bigger. The old media will be insufferable. They will think that their unfair and lying tactics are to be continued.

To me, this election was all about the still powerful and destructive old media. The indifferent and poorly informed voters are too easily manipulated and they were. It's a darl night.

****

The socialist/Marxist/liberal media is the most destructive, relentless, and ruthless enemy of this Republic.

****

But don't get down, folks. More work ahead.

Obviously you do, now that the Dems have won.

Our Troops lost tonight.......but they are the best of this generation and will overcome this slap in the face by the American people just as us Vietnam Vets did. To think our nation would ELECT those that OUR ENEMY openly said they wanted to win, is beyond my comprehension. God Bless our Troops!!

Well said. Thank you.

Apparently this is His will, and I will accept it. Maybe he's letting us be stupid.

Don't blame anyone. God helps those who help themselves. The MSM preached and pounded antibush andti war ant ieverything for the past many years. The American public is easily controled by TV and the nighttime talk show hosts who advocate letting the dem run things for a while. It is as if the public has decided to change channels.

And this is the john Titor scenario in spades.

Obviously you do, now that the Dems have won.

That is so untrue, that is all I can say to you.

I've been working for Republicans since I was handing out "I Like Ike" buttons in 1952. So settle down.

There will be another day. I just hope we can survive the next two years.

From an interview with John Titor:

Does the current relationship between Arabs and Jews have anything to do with the coming war? Real disruptions in world events begin with the destabilization of the West as a result of degrading US foreign policy and consistency. This becomes apparent around 2004 as civil unrest develops near the next presidential election. The Jewish population in Israel is not prepared for a true offensive war. They are prepared for the ultimate defense. Wavering western support for Israel is what gives Israel's neighbors the confidence to attack. The last resort for a defensive Israel and its offensive Arab neighbors is to use weapons of mass destruction. In the grand scheme of things, the war in the Middle East is a part of what's to come, not the cause.

......... can't disagree with too much of that.

"Real disruptions in world events begin with the destabilization of the West as a result of degrading US foreign policy and consistency." These terrible election results and the coming Democrat influence on policy may degrade US foreign policy.

There is no doubt that the quiet dems who are now in control won't be able to contain themselves, they will try to impeach bush, raise gas taxes, pull out of iraq, open the borders, stop accounting review laws that hold large corporations responsible for their financial statement (the stockmarket is driven by false statement routinely)

The public will not remember why the dems should be held accountable for failures. The MSM will blame everyone else including global warming, the insensitive racist general public, the jews, homophobes, big oil, the corporations and anyone else the MS has included their litany against progress for mankind.

No one puts puzzle pieces together and figures out why disaster strikes - they just get on with things and hope for tomorrow.

We can't change the public mind as long as the MSM controls their attention span.

I, like you, have a very bitter taste in my mouth about the electorate that ONCE again turned it's collective back on our TROOPS DURING A WAR!!

I will never forget my ANGER at the American people in those years and my sadness at their astounding apathy about the consequences of their actions.

It is a very sad day in America!!
