Warning: What to Expect
Self | 11/7/06 | LS

Posted on 11/07/2006 4:29:51 PM PST by LS

All right, folks. Guess I have to do it again around here and hand out the chill pills.

1) It is absolutely clear to me that we have won this. We will keep the Senate, and I'm 90% sure we keep the House. We'll probably gain a seat, maybe two in the Senate.

2) I know this from the turnout numbers, just as I did in 2004. The fact is, forget Indies. They don't vote in high numbers. It's all about the two parties, and who gets out their base.

We have done that today beyond my wildest expectations. The info we have from the Hotline on turnout is overwhelming, and in virtually every key state, we have exceeded Dem turnout by 2, 3, 4, or 6%.

As I predicted, we are seeing a Dem UNDERVOTE. They are underperforming, esp. in key states such as OH. However, they are underperforming far worse than even I dreamed. We are looking at 20% in Cuyahoga County! Brown and Strickland couldn't get elected dog catcher with that level of support.

SO HERE IS WHAT TO EXPECT: THE MEDIA IDIOTS HAVE THEIR TEMPLATES. THEY WILL BE VERY SLOW TO COME AROUND. IT WILL BE A LONG NIGHT, BECAUSE THEY WON'T BELIEVE THEIR EYES.

They may even "call" a few House races, maybe a Senate race, based on some ridiculously low "exit poll" and have to recant later. Be patient. The turnout numbers suggest we absolutely cannot lose.

Yes, the food is GROSS, but I still like it.

I LOVE the wee giggling actress. She is a stereotypical Japanese "doll", which makes me always think of THE MIKADO.

And yes, I also like the chairman, who I don't see as a "nutball".

Honestly, I believe the core of the country has actually swallowed the constant lies of the MSM. We here know people in Iraq, read their emails, their blogs, listen to what they have to say.

We have a better view of what is going on because we've made it our job, hobby, or perhaps duty, to not rely on editors from backgrounds far removed from real America. They filter reports, only allowing things that catch their interest, things that support their outlook - and that outlook as we have demonstrated time and again - is completely anti-American.

So Joe Public and Jane Worker come home at night, tired and cranky, and expect that the people on the news are as decent and truthful as themselves - so they rely on them to fulfill THEIR duty and report what is actually happening. They instead are contantly drummed into defeatism by a chorus of idiots singing a song of hate-America-first. Lies are their instruments, and that's all that anyone gets from the MSM.

We know better because we get the information that editors sort through and chop up. Basically, in the last few years, we've had to become our own media, become our own editors and reporters. We know how wrong the media has gotten everything. We know how everything this President has done and everything we as a country has achieved has been badly misrepresented by the media.

It's hard to ignore the constant drumbeat of defeatism, it is sorely hard to break the Big Lies that have 80% of the airwave time - and this is what happens when a culture is propagandized to hate itself.

It breaks my heart, to tell the truth. But it could have been much, much worse.

As is, I expect nothing good to come from the Democrats. They're deranged, and they even believe their own lies - so anything is possible.

One thing is now most probable - with Dems in power, we're going to die by the thousands again here in America by another attack. And another, and another. Blood's on their hands, and the MSM is as much or more to blame when it happens.

I think the chairman somehow managed to chew through his leather straps and find himself on TV. We disagree there, and that's okay.

Thank you for the perfect Psalm. I have tears in my eyes...I love my Country so much, and I believe so many do not understand the beast we face. They do not know the hatred this enemy has toward ALL of us.

I guess this would also be the time to post this, as well...

"Lord forgive them, for they know not what they do."

Interesting comments you are making, though rather depressing.

I like W pretty well, but I think the failure to put the insurgents away decisively has been really bad news on plenty of levels and a failure on his part. Not just that it gives great encouragement to Islamists everywhere, it gives encouragement to the Democrats and to the Left.

I'm not enough of an expert on this stuff to know whether more could or should have been done militarily, whether we should be more patient because perhaps things are going better than we think. I don't know how much blame to assign the MSM and the rest of the Left, including much of Europe for their constant encouragement of the "insurgents."

I agree that a "regime change" in Congress will be seen as a victory by Al Qaeda. Rightly so, IMO.

The night is still young ;-)

Seriously, you are correct, if the Republicans can hold the Senate and keep the Democratic House wins to around 20 seats, it won't be a bad night for the Republicans. Although we won't hear that from MSM.

But LS, what they don't have is a leader. Without a leader they are going to wander aimlessly.

I did my best... as did we all.

Take this as an opportunity to rally our party to go back to our conservative roots.

Good night, everybody.

Thank you. Leaving Church last Sunday after a sermon on God in control, my husband said, he is not worried about the election any longer because this is all part of the plan.
I am sick about the results but it is in God's hands.

I prayed this morning that God would have His will today. Apparently this is His will, and I will accept it. Maybe he's letting us be stupid.

While everybody is going into panic and depression mode, I'd like to make the following observations.

Many of the Democrats who won tonight campaigned as conservatives, and perhaps for a good number of them, that will be true and they will not walk in lock-step with Pelosi and the BendOver.org'ers. They may not get positions of power right away, but if they are conservative or moderately so, they can erode the leftist socialism pervasive in the Dem party today.

Second, impeaching Bush is not a high priority for many Americans, and it's not what they want. Dems who try it will find out what the Republicans learned in 1998 from the failed attempt at impeaching Clinton.

Also, in relation to the above, politics as we all know is a give and take proposition. If the Dems go whole-hog on impeaching Bush or rasing taxes or not funding troops (which by and large the vast majority in this country do not want to see regardless of their feelings on Iraq), the Republicans can fight back by not voting for legislation with earmarks favoring the Democrat districts of the various Dem Committee members.

The alleged Dem control of the House is not veto-proof. Bush can torpedo any Dem legislation he feels will harm the economy and veto any attempt to de-fund the troops. The Dems will not be able to override. Bush can then use the "look who wants us to lose the GWOT" and "look who's shutting down the government" similar to the tactic Clinton used.

Finally the Democrats will have to show something for this in two years, something favorable to a large majority of Americans or they will be out.

This is not the end for us but the start of a way to reform the Republican party and shake the RINO's out of the complacency they've had. But I admit it came at the price of losing a few good conservative politicians.

Finally a message to Nancy Pelosi, enjoy your victory but remember these words from 'Patton':

For over a thousand years, Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of a triumph - a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeters and musicians and strange animals from the conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children, robed in white, stood with him in the chariot, or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror, holding a golden crown, and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting.

Praying in agreement with you NordP ... they really do not know what they do, for the battle is spiritual and must be spiritually discerned. Perhaps this will usher in a Great Awakening to sweep across our beloved country ... God delights in righteous rule. Continuing in prayer ...

Sometimes God's will is to let nations and or peoples fall to accomplish His ultimate purpose. The results of tonite show how much our nation has become apostate.

If the Democrats do actually win the House, all I can say to the troops is "Welcome to the world of the Vietnam veteran."

We were stabbed in the back by the disloyal press and equally disloyal Democrats.

Now, our children have been stabbed in the back by the same disloyal press and the same equally disloyal Democrats.

But, in the end, the real source of the stab in the back was the disloyal and feckless American electorate. I am ashamed to have served the American people--a bunch of disloyal bastards--in Vietnam. I am truly ashamed to have encouraged the children in my family to have enlisted for the war on terror and to risk their lives on behalf of a ungrateful, spiteful people.

F*** you, America. Next time the terrorists attack, you're on your own.
