Demoralized Christians at the Polls (Guess what MSM..your lies didn't work!)
NRO ^ | Jonah Goldberg

Posted on 11/07/2006 8:51:16 AM PST by hipaatwo

From a reader:

Jonah,

I voted this morning in Colorado's 5th district at a polling center about 5 miles from the New Life Church where Ted Haggard used to preach. The MSM has tried to portray conservatives and especially evangelicals in the district as being so demoralized they wouldn't bother voting. I arrived at my polling place 15 minutes before it opened and the line was out door. By the time I voted and left, the line was 75 yards out the door. I live in an extremely conservative district and several people in the line with me were heading to a Bible study after they voted. All were Republicans. So much for demoralized conservative voters.

I am so demoralized by Ted Haggard, I am not voting today.

I early voted on 10/28 when I was happy.

Would this be considered an exit poll?

I was voter #14 at my Poll. The group in front of me were Christian Evangelicals I think. They were talking about their weekned they had all spent "witnessing".

I spoke with one of my liberal friends about the election yesterday, saying that I would be glad when it was over. She agreed and said that she wasn't voting because she was so sick of the negativity. She thinks that the Republicans need to go, but she dislikes the Democrats even more.

I sent this to Jonah. The polling center was swamped. To give you an idea of our district, most of the local races only had one candidate to choose from, and they were all Republican. Many of the people in line (I knew several) were retired or active military and several went to my church. I spoke with a lady who lived across the street from the polling center and she said the lines were as long as they were in 2004, which were longer than they've ever been. Christian Conservatives in this district are FIRED UP.

The MSM actually thought because a few homosexuals were found in the GOP and in Christian churches we would faint away in shock.

Christians know that evil is everywhere, we are just trying to keep it in check!

My wife and I also voted this morning at 7am (straight republican ticket). There were a lot of people voting early here in southern NH.

I am praying that the dems don't take either house. That would send shock waves throughout the MSM that has been trying to manipulate the poll results for MONTHS ON END withe their bogus polls.

Great! So you told her that she was "doing the right thing".

Additional anecdotal comments at NRO report sensational GOP turnout in red precincts in VA, MD, GA, SC, CO, less so Ohio. Not hearing anything on PA or NJ.

Almost forgot...When are the people at Fox going to realise as I do, that the opinion Dynamics pollsters are in the tank for the dems? I have been emailing them this fact for several years, but they do not listen.Even my buddy Brit falls for it.
