A New Breed of Watchdog For Election Day (Barf Alert!)
Wall Street Journal ^ | November 6, 2006 | JUNE KRONHOLZ

Posted on 11/06/2006 6:03:39 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

When Americans go to vote tomorrow, a new breed of activist will be on guard, monitoring polling stations for everything from voting-machine glitches to long lines to registration snafus.

Energized by disputed results in 2000 and 2004, they have left jobs as music conductors, real-estate agents and software engineers to form groups that expect to turn out thousands of volunteers who don't trust the country's ability to count its votes and have decided to do something about it.

"This is going to be the most heavily watched election in history," predicts Marybeth Kuznik, who founded a group called VotePA after the 2004 election to monitor voting issues in Pennsylvania. Ms. Kuznik, a former arts educator, calls herself a "progressive," but says VotePA includes members of both major parties, two minor parties and independents.

Many of the groups share liberal roots, their members smarting from the narrow Democratic losses in the last two presidential elections. But they also share in Ms. Kuznik's assurances -- and the tax and lobbying status that requires them to remain nonpartisan -- that they simply want to see a clean count.

"I don't care who wins; I just want to know it's democracy," says Warren Stewart, policy director of VoteTrustUSA, an umbrella for 70 grass-roots groups, like VotePA, that lobby legislators and warn voters about election issues.

Two of the bigger groups -- the Election Protection Coalition and Voter Action -- will staff call centers where they will field voter complaints to their 866-OUR-VOTE and 888-SAV-VOTE numbers and dispatch lawyers to any trouble spots.

The only 2004 "disputed" results I know of is the new governor of WA, who took weeks to steal the election and then had it immediately certified.

Personally, I'm tossing my digital camera in the car before going to the polls - if I see a "caravan van", it's getting followed, and photographed....especially if it then stops at another polling place and familiar faces step off.

There are many who agree that we have not witnessed such biased reporting from the mainstream media as in this election. Why is this? The liberals and mainstream media are well aware of what is at stake in our nation and have been hard at work to discourage values voters in hopes that we will sit out the 2006 elections. They want you to stay away from the ballot boxes on Tuesday.

For the sake of our children and grandchildren, please exercise your privilege and responsibility to vote on Tuesday, November 7. It is not merely control of Congress that will be decided on Tuesday, but also control of the federal courts who are assuming more and more influence over the core values that you and I care about most.

I believe I'll be taking advantage of their toll-free telephone numbers for an afternoon of practical joking. Also, don't these people know when they refuse to provide party affiliation, they may as well admit to being dems?

That about says it all, doesn't it?

Regarding that requested extension in Maryland for absentee ballots...I just got a notice from the AZ Republicans saying if you have an absentee or early ballot not mailed out yet you have to walk it through your own polling center tomorrow. So if we have to do that here, why can't they do that in Maryland?

If these clowns were truly "non-partisan" they wouldn't just be going after (mainly) bogus claims of intimidation/harassment etc. allegedly involving Rs, they'd look hard at the corrupt urban machines of the Demagogues in all the major cities, and especially Philly, St. Louis, Chicago, NYC, Milwaukee, etc. etc. I'm sure that the Demagogues will get a free pass from most/all of these "non-partisan" activist groups, which in itself will show where their real agenda lies.

"The only 2004 "disputed" results I know of is the new governor of WA, who took weeks to steal the election and then had it immediately certified."

Yup. I live in Oregon. Christine Gregoire's dem machine kept "suddenly" finding more lost boxes of votes - all for her of course. Having lost the election, and recounts, she suddenly "found" 1000 more "lost" votes - with addresses at a "public building" in Seattle, not residences - came up with a new tally with her ahead, and got one of the pet dem judges to certify it as official. And...Wha Lah!...she's governor.

But, this whole article is just a clear documentation of the dem/left myth-making, propaganda machine. The party and the people who have long perpetrated, and are perpetraing, fraud on a mass scale - who tried to steal Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004 via fraud and post election litigation, who have dead people voting for them all across the nation, who have ACORN registering phonies who vote several times a day in several states - then clothe themselves as poor, innocent victims, and accuse republicans of stealing elections.

Remember, these are the same people who, again in Florida in 2000, screamed "every vote must be counted" (when referring to ridiculous "dimpled" chads!) but deliberately threw out 4000 legitimate military votes without blinking, on an absurd and questionable time stamp technicality, because those were overwhelmingly for Bush.

Are there not laws that will keep them x-feet back from the voting places?

We HAVE a plethora of lawyers and other legal watchers. To allow this sort of thing could create chaos - and maybe this is exactly what they plan on, if they see things not going their way.

Chaos around a voting place would keep some people away...

Classic one-liners:

"Take my wife.. please!" Henny Youngman

"They simply want a clean count." The "progressive voter-watch groups" who just want everyone to be fa-a-a-a-a-air.

Today’s Democrat Party leaders and stalwarts (emphasis on warts) are STALINISTS – in both tactics and ideology.

Lie about and attack and attack your opponents accusing them of the very things that you do yourself. Scream loud and constantly, 24/7.

Over the past thirty years the traditional, patriotic Democrat Party has been destroyed by the New Left takeover. "Bring it all down, man." America is next. Fat chance, BTW.

The "watchdog" poll watchers described in the article are Democrat goons who will intimidate anyone suspected of voting Republican and will scream "fraud" if the Democrat candidate does not win. Some democracy. some sh!t.

Funny how the Dems are convinced that the Republicans "stole" the elections, yet they are against any voting safe guards like cleaning up voter roles, or requiring picture ID's for voting.

Their hypocrisy knows no limits.
