US Forces captured a 'known Al Qaeda terrorist' along with five other men, including Saudi and Pakistani nationals, according to a statement released by the Coalition today. The identities of those seized in the Khost City raid have been withheld pending the sensitive nature of the operation
The raid took place at a compound in Khost City. The statement indicated no shots were fired and no one was injured during the operation. Several women and children were present in the compound and a cache of military supplies was uncovered.
The stash included armor piercing ammunition, grenades, AK-47 assault rifles and camera equipment that contained surveillance footage of nearby military installations.
Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters are known to operate and live throughout Khost province which borders Pakistan. Fighters from neighboring Pakistan are also known to easily pass through the border area into Afghanistan on a daily basis due to the rugged terrain and well established smuggling routes.
Counter-terrorism operations launched by US forces targeting al Qaeda compounds in Nangahar and Khost provinces has been stepped up since August, netting and killing dozens of suspected al Qaeda militants.
Going out that far on a limb, eh?
Did a google news search on Khost. Interesting results starting to poor in.

Bin Laden did have a training camp right near Khost City. I'm not sure if he still does, but it would be great if it was him they caught.
Geez, the DBM is so busy predicting the dem landslide they haven't bothered to report this.
Has anyone seen it yet?
Gee I wonder why I have yet to hear anything on the MSM/DBM?
Times of India is wording it a little differently

Perzactly. It happened to a couple FReepers way back when.
Anything going on in the Islamist forums about this?
If we have captured OBL the Democrats and Euros will start screaming at a pitch that is way beyond anything we have heretofore head that THE WAR IS OVER!!! and we have to disengage in Iraq and Afghanistan and everywhere else we might be trying to deal with the Islamic enemy. There will be complete gridlock in Congress as getting out will be the only thing on the minds of the Democrats and increasingly on some "Republicans." It could really cripple the war effort.

May be that they want to be absolutely sure of ID first - there have been too many "gots" turned out not to be. If they announced the got "SO&SO" today = day before the election - and then it turned out different, there would an uproar, investigations, = on up to the impeachment that they plan on anyway

bin Laden is in Hyannisport, so it can't be him.
You got that right. I would even wait until the weekend to announce it, just so the election hysteria would blow over.
