Piscopo? Feh! I've heard "personally," (gag, hack), from Shrillary, George Clooney, Rob Reiner, and I think Babs Streisand -- but I'm not sure.
Yeah. I'm sure of the others, though. I heard their names just as I blipped the messages!

Nonsense, Republicans can't be doing that, they're too busy tampering with voting machines.

The only one I answered just had a live girl reminding me to vote. Mentioned nothing else.

I just got an automated call asking me to show up for a big rally tonight in support of Sheldon Whitehouse! Bill Clinton will be flying in for a 9pm rally tonight at a local community college. I thought I smelled desperation in the air this evening.

One call I heard apparently is illegal. A virginia voter, who has lived there for 16 years, apparently used to live in NY. He got a call telling him that he was going to be arrested and prosecuted if he showed up to vote Tuesday because he was still registered in NY.

Excuse me. In Minnesota the Democrats have been doing this for months despite the fact it violates local campaign law. Where was all the coverage of this illegal camapaigning by Democrats ABC propaganda?

Perhaps they would also like to discontinue the calls they are sending into Iowa REPUBLICAN households informing them their polling site has been changed.
They're Creeps. Total Creeps.

I think they're specifically complaining about
these calls. Ones that start out sounding like they're from Democrat candidates and call six times a day, so that if you just keep hanging up and getting angry you never hear the bit at the end about it being a GOP call. After reading about this I listened to the next call I got all the way through, and it's exactly what they described. I can't say whether Democrats are doing the same thing or not, but either way
we shouldn't be. It's frankly despicable.

The GOP is relying too much on phoning so that it can reach huge numbers of voters. They seem to have forgotten about the importance of QUALITY of contact. More emphasis should have been placed on precinct-walking. The idea of making multiple calls to the same voter is ill-advised. (And autodials -- recorded calls or "robocalls" -- are way overused.) As so often, the "professionals" don't look at it from the standpoint of the average Joe -- or the average volunteer.
There should be one call to each low and medium propensity voter about absentee voting, then, at the end, one call explaining where his/her polling place is located and its hours.

I personally hate automated phone calls. I call for a cease-fire on both sides and we will all be happy.
Agreed!
I had at least a dozen calls yesterday, from early in the morning to almost 9pm. Some were different messages for the same candidate. This is so annoying. I wish there was a call list I could get on saying I already voted, don't call me!

I second that emotion, and I don't even have a land-line! However, my friends that do don't answer until they hear my voice on the machine, because they're getting so many calls...

"The only one I answered just had a live girl reminding me to vote. Mentioned nothing else."
Rove is so smart that he knows how you will vote *if you voted*, so he knows all he has to do is remind you to vote. He changes his voice to sound like a girl to make it even more effective. : )
All kidding aside, it is very intelligent to remind known Republicans to vote without sounding like you're selling a candidate; save the candidate-pushing for independents who actually need to be convinced to vote for the Republican.
