I wish I were optimistic. I will be working on the Hillary documentary tomorrow and will pay attention to none of it.

Did you feel that liberal? Rove just touched the top of your head with his foot, now he's gone.

You wouldn't expect him to be otherwise.

What's Going to Happen [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

The mood of a Very Smart Political Mind this morning:

Yesterday, I was convinced we were headed to the minority. I looked at the polls for the races and felt a little better.

Then I saw the generic polls and felt a lot better - although it's hard to know what they mean in individual races, they are a move in the right direction.

The press is so relentlessly attacking with such vigor, it's hard not to believe.

Again, when I look at individual races, I'm slightly more optimistic.

We won't know until tomorrow night.

The article has it wrong. Rove was right in 2000, but could not predict the DWI dirty trick and became overconfident. He stopped campaigning during the last days when he should have had Bush out there. If he had, there would not have been a Florida 2000 fiasco.

This rather reminds me of the SS man who fought a Gurkha. They went at each other armed with knives. The Gurkha took a swipe and the SS man said, "Ha ha, you didn't get me."

The Gurkha said, "Oh yes? Then nod."

The SS man nodded - and his head rolled off his neck.

Regards, Ivan

My God can you imagine the wave of Republican control if the MSM was just only fair and balanced.

In a voting society, the people deserve the government they get...

As I've said a thousand times,

If the MSM was fair, we'd never lose an election.

They know it. The Dims know it. That's why the MSM is their most cherished asset.

Another reason to be optimistic...Britt Hume was touting a poll last week that said that voters planned to vote for their incumbent Congressman/Senator by a margin of 65-35. That bodes well for Republicans.

Don't worry, be happy. The tide's changed and the big blue wave is on it's way back out to sea...before the election! It crested about a week to early for the stupid 'Rats. We're keeping both houses and may pick up seats.

LOL!

I'm reminded of a true story in which an American GI was standing post in the pitch black night near Monte Cassino.

He felt something brush the lower back edge of his helmet and heard light rustling. He couldn't tell whether it was an animal that brushed past him or not.

He reported it and his unit was readied in case anything happened.

The next day his lieutenant mentioned the incident to a British counterpart, who said it was probably a Gurkha who was feeling the helmet edge to see if it was shaped like a Wehrmacht standard issue helmet.

If it were he would have quietly cut the soldier's throat that moment. But since it was the American shape, he vanished into the night.
