"But I don't trust them. My enemy isn't foreign now. It's domestic."
What? So, he's at war with Canada now?

"They're not going to win the hearts and minds like that," said Glass, 24, who signed on with the Indiana National Guard in 2002. They're not gonna win your heart or mind, but they're gonna own your ass.
Glass reneged on a contract-- he took from the Guard and didn't fulfill his commitment... and he's worried about hearts and minds?
I say let his unit administer the punishment.
And while we're at it, lets impose some sanctions on Canada that make them think twice about harboring fugitives.

Right. Treating deserters as deserters is obscene. Hey, stay where you are idiot. You belong there.

Several soldiers who went to Canada have said they don't want to return to Iraq. Sgt. Patrick Hart, who deserted the Fort Campbell, Ky.-based 101st Airborne Division in August 2005, a month before his second deployment, said he felt misled about the reasons for the war.Speechless

This isn't even similar to Vietnam. There is no draft, the military is voluntary. Furthermore, deaths in Iraq are much less than they were in Vietnam. If these people were against going to war, they shouldn't have become part of the military. It isn't as though they didn't have a choice.

Only one way to "win hearts and minds"....something CUT & RUN COWARDS know squat about. If this POS returns, he should immediately face court-martial and firing squad.

It's a deal similar to one Darrell Anderson, a 24-year-old Iraq war veteran, received in October. After three days at Fort Knox, Anderson, who has denounced the war as "illegal" and "immoral," was released to his family in Lexington, then discharged. The Army is probably just letting them go because they don't want to give this scum the publicity they crave. I think it's a mistake. They're still getting publicity.
Deserters should rot in prison.

Kyle Snyder, 23, right, is a Colorado Springs, Colo., soldier who fled to Canada rather than return to Iraq on Oct. 31, 2006, in Louisville, Ky., as his attorney James Fennerty , left, looks on. (AP Photo / Brian Bohannon)
Kyle Snyder, a one-time combat engineer who joined the military in 2003, disappeared Wednesday, a day after surrendering at Fort Knox and 18 months after fleeing to Vancouver instead of redeploying to Iraq.

I could see going back under some kind of amnesty program A coward on all fronts. He will only come back to the US if he gets amnesty??? After deserting during wartime??
Firing squad. On Pay-per-view. I'd pony up $20.
