My daughter is in the Air Force!
I just found out that she won't be able to vote!
She is stationed in the Azores!
Why won't our government let our Military vote?
If the military vote was included we wouldn't have a second Clinton scumbering!!
We need to have some way for all our Soldier's votes to count when the Clinton 2008 War machine races into action to take over the WH again.

Why can't she vote?
susie
Here ya go === it's posted.
get on the phone with your congressman asap.
I need more information....
Can you elaborate as to why? Your shouting isn't constructive.
The military has a long history of voting against Democrats. Thus, they will have to live being disenfranchised while illegals and dead get to vote.
Have a nice day and keep voting Democrat. :)
Geeez....my son in Irak got his ballot...I think he said it was in the form of an e-mail but I could have been mistaken.
It's for Gitmo Sailor --- it's his daughter.
It is outrageous. Our Marine recieved his ballot for the 2004 elections after the elections where over with. None of my sons have been able to vote while they were deployed. The state always gets the ballots out too late.
Without that information, we cannot have an informed opinion.
Can you redo the title?
Make it FReeper Gitmo Sailor's Daughter in military cannot vote?
Hi mys... as I understand it they are permitting military to e-mail in their votes. There was a thread about it here during the week end.
Why didn't your daughter fill out an application and send it to your county's registrar of voters? That's how I voted when I was in the military.
Did she send off for her absentee ballot in time?
Please address your comments to Gitmo Sailor.
It's his daughter.
I saw the thread...Jonathan told me he had his ballot and mentioned something about it was on an email....I'll ask him when I talk to him again.
The military tries very hard to get it's people to vote.
I have to think she messed up.
Well said, jude24. Also, the troops can now vote by email anyway. The DOD has a new system set up specifically for the purpose of making it easier for the troops overseas to vote.
I wonder if this girl wasn't registered in time. Makes all the difference.
Pentagon spokeswoman Cynthia Smith said the Defense Department has set up a secure absentee voter program that will allow military members to request and receive absentee ballots. The new program, she said, lets people vote without relying on the regular mail system.
As part of the program, many states allow military members deployed overseas to return their completed ballot via fax or the Internet. Those ballots, Smith said, will not pass through the hands of any government officials until they are received by a local election authority.
"The e-mail-to-fax operation does have risks, but we have taken every precaution to limit those risks," said Smith. She said U.S. service members have been told of the potential privacy concerns with the system, so they can make an informed choice about whether to use the program.
