Cassie Bernall was born on November 6, 1981...she was murdered by a school mate because she was a Christian. Though the details of her death are disputed, everyone acknowledges she was a professing or practicing her faith when killed.

Her mother wrote a book about Cassie, entitled "She said yes"; I hope all FREEPers will remember Cassie tomorrow, and pray for her parents while we work for America's future.

I've read that book as well as the one that Rachael Scott's parents wrote. I love the poem that Cassie wrote the day before she died. God bless her.

Rachel's mother spoke at my sister's baccalaureate, and I know the Catholic priest who ministered to some of the gunshot victims who survived. Their story was the same.

For all the talk about militant atheism, at least these incidents are few and far between. But their pain won't ever go away.
