The video you will see on this web site is horrifying. The crimes committed against law-abiding gun owners are beyond comprehension. The arrogance of anti-gun politicians and government officials and their hate of freedom will churn your stomach.
The law is the law, the Constitution is the Constitution. If ONE local mayor or police chief can decide what the Second Amendment means, it opens the door to tyrannywhere ANY mayor or police chief can say what the Second Amendment means.

Honestly, I don't think I have any such documentation anywhere in my files for any of the guns I own.
Seriously, you may want to consider getting such doc. together. May take a while -- requesting receipts and whatnot -- but surely worth it. Also suggest you scan and upload the docs once you have them.
Technology is going to make it much easier for the law to track down "undocumented" guns and confiscate them. Use technology now, for your advantage.
I live in NYC, where you're not allowed (I've heard) to keep handguns in your apartments. The NYPD will rent you free locker space for your handgun (gee, thanks).
I don't own a gun, but have contemplated it. First thing I would do is get first-class training on handling, shooting, etc. Second thing I would do is buy the gun. Third thing I would do is immediately get my paperwork in apple-pie order.
I've read that article, and it bears reading again. Thanks for the link.
I have no paper on any of my arms. I can't imagine what "technology" it would be that could track any of them to me. But I will concede the point and entertain the hypothetical scenario that the "authorities" have come to confiscate them. My sympathies to the paramedics and the cleaning crew that follows them.
Many reasons. For me, this is the first I have read it or viewed the website...........
The worst of all the recent hurricanes were in Sept. & Oct. '04. I live in Palm Beach County and the last one did extreme damage to my condo. There was no power, no phone (even cell) service. One couldn't reach the police or even EMS - and even if one could reach them they couldn't respond. Roads were impassable, etc.
In other words everybody was on his own. This situation lasted almost a week. I loaded my .38 special to protect my life and property if need be.
As it turned out there was no looting, no rioting (as in New Orleans!) no street violence. People in the various communities helped themselves and each other.
Now I'll tell you why I believe my personal experience is not just anecdotal but a very small part of a much larger and more important truth.
The criminal element - which always tries to take advantage of any natural disaster - KNEW that most Floridians possessed firearms and would take any necessary action to defend their lives and property - and that of their neighbours.
In addition to the fact that any law-abiding citizen can possess a firearm, and in addition to right-to-carry we also have by law another lesser known (but very important) right: the absolute right to defend oneself in his domecile if HE feels himself threatened. This may seem to be obvious but having seen what other laws and police in other states have done to people merely exercising the right of self-defense - where the victim and not the criminal is tried and made a defendent, it becomes clear that it's not so obvious.
What I'm saying is that what John Lott proved by research has been proved existentially to be true by the personal experience of countless people.
It also goes far beyond the fact that we in FL have more experience and are better prepared to deal with hurricanes. It relates to the fact that New Orleans is one huge welfare state and when Big Brother isn't there to baby sit for them in time of calamity - there is complete panic, anarchy, and pandemonium.
In other words too many people, when called upon by dire circumstances to act as individuals and care for themselves and their communities, are unable or unwilling to do so. The collapse of law and order should surprise no one. The failure of local and state government (the first-responders) to maintain control in time of emergency should surprise no one. Just ask "school bus" Nagin or the feckless governor.
As usual, it's easier for those of this mentality to make a situation worse by gun-grabbing. This not only makes honest people more vulnerable but proves that the liberals are incapable of identifying and focusing on the real problems.
I agree, it is plain as day. And the judges and legislators understand it as well as we do, but since they can get away with ignoring it they will continue to ignore it as long as the people allow them to. They won't try to flatly outlaw religion even if they wanted to, which many liberals do, because they know the people wouldn't allow it. But thy have gotten away with violating our right to keep and bear arms because 90% of gun owners don't care enough about that right to do anything about protecting it.
If all 70-80 million gun owners would just once use their vote to throw out every elected official who has voted to limit or violate their 2nd Amendment rights, and then elect legislators who promise to impeach and remove federal and state judges and Justices who deliberately misinterpret the 2nd Amendment and similar protections in state constitutions, there would not be another internal threat to our right to keep and bear arms for at least another generation or two. It's really pathetic that only about 4 or 5 million gun owners care enough about keeping their guns to become active in the fight against the anti-gun billionaires by voting for pro-gun candidates and writing or calling their state and federal representatives in support of pro-gun legislation and against anti-gun legislation.
