Howard Dean Statement on the Saddam Verdict
National Review ^

The DNC chairman praises the result that would not have come without the actions he oppposed:
Justice for the Iraqi people was finally served today with the conviction of Saddam Hussein. This dictator ruled by fear, torturing and murdering his own people to satisfy his malicious interests. Its commendable and important that he was brought to justice in the country where he committed these atrocities against humanity.
Iraq is in the middle of a civil war and growing sectarian violence will be an even greater concern following this verdict. Our troops should be commended for providing the security needed to conduct this trial in Iraq and for their ongoing efforts to put an end to the violence and protect the Iraqi people.

He can agree with the verdict, but disagree with how it was arrived at.
Dean would be consistent if, by conferring Constitutional Rights on Saddam, by declaring a mistrial. Evidence seized without a warrant, a prejudiced, tainted panel of judges, the list goes on and on - after all, it's an ILLEGAL war by an administration OUT OF CONTROL --- YEAAAAAAh!

Dean forgot to thank the President?. . .No. .he forgot to express his real hope that what has just transpired in Iraq will soon be duplicated for the leader of the USA.

But he says it is appropriate that it occurred in the land where Saddam actually ruled tryanically. That could have occurred in only one way, the way the President went about making it happen. Otherwise, Iraq would never have tried and convicted this bastard. As I say, in reality, Dean's admission and expression is a ringing endorsement of Bush's Iraq policy.

Seems to me he is attempting to appeal to the moderate Democrat that knows we are there for the purpose of defending innocents while showing them a better way of life. Problem with moderates leaning towards liberalism is that the truth becomes more obscure. Positive side of moderates leaning towards conservatism is the truth becomes more revealed. 2 + 2 is not what you want it to be, it is what it is. Murder is murder. Killing someone while defending yourself or another is NOT murder. TRUTH IS NOT RELATIVE.

Howard is disappointed because the Iraq courts decided to hang the evil Saddam rather than dismember thousands of innocent, viable fetuses.

Do you suppose Dean is concerned about alienating the terrorists who have endorsed Democrat candidates?

Ouch. Dean's comments say one thing and mean another. What they mean is the sentence of Saddam puts a big fright into democrats facing the voters on Tuesday. Just one more drip of the Rovian water torture.

Ya gotta remember,PF4, some people absolutely need the /Sarcasm at the end of a sarcastic post. Without it, they reply, well, foolishly.

When reading somewhat lousy syntax, it's kind of hard to detect sarcasm. So don't be so hasty to call me foolish.
Perhaps my expectations of decent composition are a tad too sophisticated for some on here.
Thanks for the insult. I love you, too. ;-)
