The Talk Shows
Sunday, November 5th, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): House Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio; Missouri Democratic Senate candidate Claire McCaskill; Maryland Republican Senate candidate Michael Steele.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sen. Elizabeth Dole, R-N.C., chairwoman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee; Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee; Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., chairman of the House Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee; and Rep. Tom Reynolds, R-N.Y., chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn.; Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Vice President Dick Cheney, Democratic National Chairman Howard Dean.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : White House press secretary Tony Snow; Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.; Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salih; Reps. Peter Hoekstra, R-Mich., and Maxine Waters, D-Calif.; House Majority Whip Roy Blunt, R-Mo.; ex-Sen. Max Cleland, D-Ga.
Excellent nuggets, anita. I stopped to read them; the Rumsfeld interview is a must-read as is the Bulldog pundit's tracking of the NYT's latest poll of no-shows at the real polling place and how the Times uses it to make news.
The NYT "doctored Iraq documents" may seem tedious to some but should be read. The Iraqi documents were translated by a Freeper and the translator and Free Republic are duly credited at http://www.captainsquartersblog.com.
Have been noticing other blogs, Tom Maguire's http://www.justoneminute.typepad.com particularly, giving credit to Free Republic for its impeccable research done by informed, intelligent and dedicated Free Republic members.
I have always found the research here to be miles ahead of anything at the other blogs and kilometers ahead of the dinosaur media, which, quite frankly, seems utterly bereft of honesty in their presentation of shoddily prepared and agenda driven non-news.
Oh, the disgust of the Florida papers with that "windbag" Chris Matthews not moderating the Florida governor debate, but using it as a "promotional opportunity for his own show" shows a growing lack of patience with people like Matthews for whom politics is a giddy game, when in today's reality, it is a matter of life and death.
Thanks again for pulling this together and handing it to us every week; the nuggets are a much appreciated gift.
Russert now citing poll numbers for many Senate races to Senator Dole. All but one poll (6 out of 7) recited by Russert show Dems in lead. Dole states internal polls show different...
How ironic is it when Nancy refers to a "freak show."
It would NOT be SAFE to ride in a car with that bumpersticker attached! Remember what Christ did to the merchant's tables in the Temple!!!

Dan RATHER up in two on Fox and Friends Sunday!
to read later
So I read that a new batch of polls say there is a GOP "surge" that has "surprised" many in the media.... :)
Morning everyone!
I cannot stand Rahm - he has given me the creeps for years - what a lying snake.
Liddy is holding her own this a.m. IMHO!
Russert asked Congressman Reynolds about his specific race. Reynolds says it is all about turnout... Buffalo News poll shows Reynolds up 47-46 over Jack Davis.
All Chucky has is to repeat rubber stamp congress and to intone that people want change. Change to what, Chuckie. To those who will lose this war. I don't think so. The Pubbies on MTP are pretty upbeat, imo.
Timmy now brings up the Foley scandal. Keep this non-story alive. Reynolds corrects Timmy who got the year wrong. Timmy is hunched and frowning. WE ARE GOING TO WIN, FOLKS.
"They have very pretty girls, including Shep Smith"
That had better win funniest line!!!
LLS
Lots of questions from Russert to Reynolds on the Foley incident...
I don't know what I'd do without Free Republic. The Chronicle at least lets me know what the "other side" is up to.
Yes. Rummy and Condi are both supposed to stay out of politics, more or less (IIRC Bush asked that they do so). They aren't elected, they're appointed by the President, approved by the appropriate Senate Committee then voted on by the whole senate.
Anybody watching Dan Rather on FOX? He reminded us that Saddam is not dead yet.
LOL--Libby just keeps on talking, doesn't she? She's going to politely drown out anyone else until she makes her point. She's something.
Russert asked Rahm E. is the Foley scandal is "playing around the country". Rahm E. sort of waffles on answer, citing a do-nothing Congress in need of change...
I don't blame Reynolds, I wouldn't want to be sitting next to Rahm either, or, for that matter even in the same room w him.
Rahm - why don't you talk about the Dims who are in 'ethical' trouble and who have no morals.
