Iraq urges calm ahead of Saddam verdict
By CHRISTOPHER BODEEN, Associated Press Writer 38 minutes ago
SNIP
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's prime minister on Saturday urged his countrymen to accept the impending verdict against Saddam Hussein without violence, then in the next breath declared the former dictator must get "what he deserves" with the decision that could send him to the gallows.
NE Ohio here. cold and dreary.
Hi there. Oh, I wasn't sure if you could even *see* this. OK, sending FReepmail to tell you to do your eye drops today (meaning Sunday, right?).
Hi Allegra,
I'm doing pretty good. I've been keeping up with you on the threads even though I haven't been posting much.
I did go through severe FR withdrawal from the end of June up until the first of October. (Was in hospital from 6/28 - 08/03 and then at MIL to be's house for a month). Am doing much better now.
Keep us posted on any reaction from the street and be careful!
And you were working for them before the war? That must've been a shocking development. Were you given a choice or was it a must?
LOL! I hear ya --- I am not even thinking about Christmas --- I have to get through Thanksgiving first and I already announced that I do NOT want a tree this year. So ditto your bah humbug. :)
It ain't the U.S. - they will get right to it pretty quickly.
>>Oh, if they proclaim Saddam "GUILTY," there is an EXCELLENT chance of citizens celebrating in the streets.
In every city in this country<<
Oh, please give us a blow-by-blow description!!!!!!!
God bless our troops and our President George W Bush who made this act of justice possible.
I wonder if Iraqi women will come out ululating in the streets like the Palis did on 9/11...but this time handing out candies & sweets to OUR SOLDIERS instead of children?
That's a picture I'd like to see.
BTT
I have the Beltway Boys on Fox!!
OK, they cut away..hopefully for good.
FNC --- set to begin this very hour... oh oh --- looks like it'll take a couple of hours to hear the whole thing.
Sounds like many on the thread need some sun.
It is sunny 70s during the day here in San Diego.
Yep, I can see the screen pretty well since I've got the text size pretty large. And yes, I need to start them around 7ish to 8ish this morning, 4X a day.
Thanks again!
I hope that President Bush will make a prime time speech tonight, Sunday, and remind people of the extremely important achievement of this Saddam verdict and remind people that the world is much better off with this man finished forever.
I refuse to watch the replay of the Beltway Boys.
They just jumped over
I can hear the DemonRATs seething with hatred. I can just hear Kerry saying that Karl Rove planned this to happen just before the elections.
This is a good thing to happen just before the elections. It will bring home the fact that we were justified in going after this tyrant. I hope the verdict spells out to the world the crimes he was guilty of committing. It would highlight to the world the evil the United States and the leadership of President Bush was able to eliminate--just before the elections.
