U.S. Sen. Barack Obama expressed regret late Friday for his 2005 land purchase from now-indicted political fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko in a deal that enlarged the senator’s yard.

“I consider this a mistake on my part and I regret it,” Obama told the Chicago Sun-Times in an exclusive and revealing question-and-answer exchange about the transaction.

In June 2005, Obama and Rezko purchased adjoining parcels in Kenwood. The state’s junior senator paid $1.65 million for a Georgian revival mansion, while Rezko paid $625,000 for the adjacent, undeveloped lot. Both closed on their properties on the same day.

Last January, aiming to increase the size of his sideyard, Obama paid Rezko $104,500 for a strip of his land.

Hillary has this in waiting for Barack after the election to sink his presidential ship before it gets out of port. Rezko will probably sink the Gov of Illinois AND Wisconsin, but not till after the election, unfortunately.

Please use the man's full name. Barack Hussein Obama!

A little reminder of his roots!

You seriously think the MSM are going to let this be a big story?

Please. It will come and go while everyone is thinking about this election. By January it will never be mentioned.

Clinton got out from under sleazier deals than this. We will see of Osama has the same brazen stones or not.

As much as people around here hate Fitzgerald we must remember that if it weren't for him almost none of this would have come to light.

Thank you former Senator Peter Fitzgerald for appointing this man US Attorney.

Hillary will use this, and if you think there is not more dirt between Barack Hussein Obama and Rezko, I have a strip of land in Chicago to sell you. What the earlier articles about this also revealed is that Rezko paid for a wrought iron fence matching Obamas fence, that Obama pays his gardener to cut Rezko's grass, and other little tidbits that make one believe that Barack and Rezko are much closer than the Senator lets on.

For some reason many americans seem to think this guy is a centrist, but he is wayyy out on the far left. So I take this scandal as very good news.

I read the article and I guess I still don't get what the big deal is. Maybe I'm not understanding it fully.

The only thing he is guilty of is cringing before the media on what appears to be a perfectly normal transaction.

Nope. It's simply designed to *look* like a reason to give to loyal Black voters for why the Dems are going yet another 4 years without a Black Presidential or VP candidate on their ticket.

Dems would rather tread closer to corruption than dare be tagged as racist overlords who merely pay lip service to Blacks come election time.

"The state’s junior senator paid $1.65 million for a Georgian revival mansion..."

Now how can he afford that on a Senator's salary?

He's to earnest to lie so well. But his complexion will buy him a bulletproof vest and he knows it.

Obama is not meant to be a serious candidate in 08 - this is to get him groomed and his name household-known for future races. They know he's too new and inxperienced to get elected in 08 - This is laying the ground

The chicago media is all over this like flys on sh*t. Rezko is under federal indictment and the Feds will look into every, and I mean EVERY aspect of his dealings with politicians, including Barack. That is never a good thing.
