I heard despite these marches, Chavez was still far ahead in polling done by independent objective outside pollsters.
Exciting news, if it's true, but where are the polls showing Chavez behind?
Should Hugo "mysteriously" "win" the next election, I hope that double that number of people get rid of him violently.

CARACAS, Venezuela - President Hugo Chavez defended a top official caught on tape threatening to fire state employees who oppose the Venezuelan leader, suggesting those who do not like his leftist policies should go somewhere else, like Miami.
Television footage released during the week by opposition supporters showed Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez telling workers of state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) to back Chavez or give up their jobs. The opposition said it was proof of political coercion which violated rules against the use of state bodies as campaign tools.
Chavez, a staunch critic of
President Bush and his administration, is running for re-election on Dec. 3.
Meanwhile, opposition presidential candidate Manuel Rosales led 16-mile march through the capital on Saturday, drawing tens of thousands into the streets to endorse his candidacy. More than 1,000 police were deployed along the route to prevent clashes between Rosales supporters and "Chavistas" who gathered on street corners, shouting "Viva Chavez!" and "Oh, No! Chavez Won't Go!" as marchers passed.
On Friday, Chavez defended Ramirez, saying he agrees workers must be loyal to his Bolivarian Revolution movement.
"Of course PDVSA is revolutionary," Chavez said as he inaugurated a new subway line outside Caracas. "Petroleos de Venezuela workers are with this revolution, and those who aren't should go somewhere else. Go to Miami."
Chavez accused opponents of plotting coups against him and said the military — like the oil firm — must be totally committed.
"Venezuelan soldiers are in this revolution, and I have told them: anyone who isn't had better leave here," he said.
He also accused some private TV channels of fomenting conspiracies against his government and warned in a televised speech: "Don't be surprised if I say there are no more concessions to some TV channels," when their licenses expire in March.
The state oil company, the country's single largest employer with a 40,000-member work force, has been heavily pro-Chavez since the president dismissed nearly half its workers to end an anti-government oil strike in 2003.
But aides to Rosales cite electoral rules that prohibit using the oil company and other branches of the government to further a candidate's campaign.
Already this week, Chavez opponents complained of vote-buying when the government paid early Christmas bonuses to public workers. The opposition also complains that state-funded advertising and TV time are giving the incumbent an illegal edge.
Rosales' campaign says electoral officials can impose a maximum fine of $7,800 on Ramirez if it finds campaign rules have been broken. It also is demanding an investigation by prosecutors.
Ramirez told the Venezuelan daily newspaper Ultimas Noticias that he did nothing to violate campaign rules because there was no explicit call "to vote for one candidate in particular but rather we backed President Chavez as head of state." He said more internal videos would be released to quell any doubts.

OMG is gits so disgusting and I wouldn't watch it except that I don't have cable or satelite and there's nothin else worth watchin, either.

| The Chavez campaign advertisement touting the results of an early October Zogby poll of 800 voters in the Venezuelan presidential election reveals how weak the Chavez campaign really is.
The Zogby poll of 800 voters shows a Venezuela that few Venezuelans living today would recognize. Huge majorities are voting for Chavez and say he’s doing a great job, he’s a great guy. Huge majorities say the country is on the right track – it couldn’t be better. Huge majorities of Venezuelans say they have no problems with security, crime, foreign giveaways, poverty, income, housing, and corruption – we live in a perfect world with a perfect revolution ruled by a perfect leader. Zogby’s only ‘error’ that we can see from the perspective of the hidden client Chavez is that only 6 million will vote for Chavez, not the 10 million he said were in the bag in August.
Technically, the poll is fatally flawed. Zogby admits that the poll was conducted with “face to face interviews in home” where, of course, Venezuelans know they are identified by name and can be punished if they say the wrong thing about Chavez, who is handing out about Bs 1 million per person per month as the election nears. This explains why Zogby’s poll found only 8% who voted against Chavez in the 2002 election, when in fact 38% did – a 30% error. If that error were balanced against the presidential vote question, the Zogby poll would show Rosales defeating Chavez -- but Zogby conveniently decided to ignore it.
Zogby’s client list for polls includes a lot of Islamic fanatics and terrorists who are strategic partners of Chavez – Yassir Arafat, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hizbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood, Iran, etc. Zogby missed the recent Brazil presidential vote by 25% in favor of his client, Lula da Silva. Zogby would do better taking the Chavez money, never conducting a poll, and just reporting to Chavez what he wants to hear. Zogby should take its cue from the CNE, which knows how to please Chavez royally.
The fact that Chavez would tout false poll numbers in campaign ads, while claiming the opposition is doing the same thing, is typical behavior for him. Chavez traditionally projects the evil he commits to the enemy who does not commit it – that is his signature and character. Look at the Chavez numbers and the real numbers for PDVSA production, foreign giveaways of oil wealth, murders, housing, poverty, unemployment and registered voters, and the same pattern crops up. The Chavez numbers always show a perfect world, while the real numbers show a terrible world.
The Rosales campaign believes that Venezuelans, especially barrio residents and ostensible Chavistas, live in the real world and not the one that Chavez imagines. Chavez has no idea how Venezuelans really live – he’s too busy traveling the world in his Michael Jackson jet plane handing out money to ever notice that 90% of Venezuelans really want, and need, Mi Negra.

Not being negative, but I just follow the news pretty closely and I haven't seen any such polls.
The rallies are beyond impressive though, clearly.
No one is covering this at all, amazing. They'll cover 25 people who show up to support him though!
