Why these girls went to a black party is beyond me. They knew it was black before they walked in.

In this neighborhood, whites, blacks, Asians, Hispanics, and a sizeable gay population live intermixed. Everyone is of a high socioeconomic class so there is little crime, though illegals peruse the garbage bins in our Beverly Hills-style alleys behind each home.

I don't know if you have evidence that I am not aware of, that these girls were going to a "black" event. I assumed they were going to a Haunted House created by their friends or neighbors, and one would like to think it would not matter what race of people lived there.

I still wouldn't live in your area, although I'm sure it has its fine points. I say this as someone who once lived in a student area surrounded by the ghetto on the south side of Chicago.

Oddly enough, I have never spent time south of San Pedro and north of Newport Beach, with the exception of a visit to the Queen Mary a few years back for dinner.

BTW: "Mixed" neighborhoods here on the east coast are either white areas that are changing over to black/Asian/Hispanic, or formerly ghetto areas being gentrified by white yuppies.

This was NOT a black party. It was a Halloween block party and the group there were the interlopers. This happens in my neighborhood on Halloween too where people who do not live in the area come in droves with their children to trick or treat. Tonight in the news they reported that people are leaving California in droves, because of housing. I think that is the PC reason. I can't wait to get out of here because of things like this. When the productive members of the state leave, lets see what's left for those who WILL NOT do for themselves.
