Bush: Dems not unpatriotic, just wrong on Iraq

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri (AP) -- President Bush, working a southwest Missouri campaign crowd like a yell leader, blasted Democrats on Friday, saying they have no plan to keep Americans safe from terrorists.

Bush said Democrats calling for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq aren't unpatriotic, just wrong. He said Democrats who voted against legislation to detain and interrogate suspected terrorists, the National Security Agency's eavesdropping program and the Patriot Act don't understand the stakes in the war on terror.

"If they say they want to win the war on terror, but call for America to pull out of what al Qaeda says is the central front in this war, ask them this question: 'What's your plan?' " Bush said at a rally for Missouri Sen. Jim Talent, who is seeking re-election in one of the tightest races in the nation. (Watch how Bush is picking his election battles -- 1:36 Video)

"The truth is the Democrats can't answer that question," Bush said. "Harsh criticism is not a plan for victory. Second guessing is not a strategy.

"We have a plan for victory. We have a plan to secure this country, and part of our plan is to send Jim Talent back to the United States Senate."

Bush, who is making two campaign stops in Missouri before traveling to Iowa and Colorado, is on a six-day campaign swing that ends on Election Day. Talent's re-election is critical to the GOP effort to retain control of Congress. Democrats need a net gain of six seats to reclaim control of the Senate.

There are many people who would say the rats are cowardly traitors who hate American power. Many people think the rats loath and believe our military is populated with fools of the lowest class. Many people believe the rats are actually gleeful about the heavy death toll last month in Iraq because of the political effects it could have on the Nov elections...Clearly the President wouldn't say that...
President Bush also wouldn't proclaim the rats willfully betray national secrets or regurgitate terrorist propaganda. He also will not go on record as believing the rats just hate America.

But I sure do.

"...(Democrats) don't understand the stakes in the war on terror"

I respectfully disagree with President Bush.

If it truly was a lack of understanding of the stakes in the beginning, then a substantial number of Democrats would have made the effort by now to obtain understanding through knowledge and would have publicly changed their views on the War on Terror.

The fact that Democrats in Congress have not made the effort to gain understanding, and noteworthy conversions have not occurred, indicates a willful disregard for the safety of all Americans in a life and death issue that threatens the entire nation and the rest of the world. That is unpatriotic and unforgivable.

I will not forgive the Democrats on November 7th.

IMO that's not even the reason he says this...he HAS to say it or the MSM would absolutely draw and quarter him!

I'll forgive them on the tenth of Never. Freakin' traitors. At this point all it takes is two firing neurons to understand the situation in spite of the MSM blackout on truth.

I took it as a backslap to democrats. By having to defend them, he planted doubt that they are unpatriotic. Subliminal guilt assignment using insinuation.

I think he should use his office to draw and quarter them. I'd like to see him stand up like Rep Hunter did. Ask them "whose side are you on anyway?". Are you reporting for America or reporting for Kim Jong Ill and Iran? He has won nothing by pretending and saying empty headed pleasantries about his clear enemies. President Bush is a great man, far greater than he is given credit for but we need him to be the way he is on the campaign trail and show that kind of leadership even when an election isn't at stake. I just want to to point his finger and tell the likes of Murtha and others to wait a minute and that he isn't going to stand for US congressman to condemn are military...Ignoring them might be the bigger thing but the people are being mislead and misinformed because this White House does not make its case effectively except when its election eve. These Democrat dolts crumble under the slightest opposition and allowing them to remaining standing with any public credibility after some of the things they have said and actions they have taken and the harm they have wrought our soldiers and our efforts abroad is unconscionable. They deserve no quarter.

Its a good play but its silly. The average people don't pick up on that kind of thing. They pick up on when he says strong words and points the way and inspires Americans to greatness. That is what I want from him. Maybe it is too much but I've seen him on the campaign trail and he can raise a crowd.

Perhaps they stay at different mansions in a rotating schedule.

Great, related post that I reccomend highly....
http://varifrank.com/archives/2006/11/8th_day_of_reas_1.php

Today's Reason: To teach them a lesson. Its not the Republicans I want to teach, its the Democrats.

Here's what I want to teach them:

"The Anti-war movement is electoral poison".

In my mind, the "anti-war movement" is just the gateway drug to the more corrosive and dangerous mental drugs of "Anti-American" and "Anti-Capitalist". If you stop the Democrats natural attraction of "Anti-War" then you can stop the move towards the next stop in the descent.
