A polite McNerny volunteer showed up at our door last night, asking for my wife, a registered Republican and conservative. It seems they are targeting women. He didn't seem to notice our Pombo bumper sticker. He left when I told him we were voting for Pombo. There's a new radio ad out called the "Pombo Mambo" with calypso singers singing words such as, "brown sludge in the water", and "trips in RV to National Parks paid for by taxpayers". It's put out by some Conservation group. I can't wait for next Tuesday.

Had a polite Pombo volunteer come by here this morning. He left when I assured him we were voting for Pombo. It's a hot race here and I am getting mighty sick of those computerized calls. I was at the debate between McNerney and Pombo in October and during the Primaries with the other Democratic hopefuls. I was prejudiced but McNerney's supporters were disgraceful in their behavior there. Pombo took more abuse from both McNerney and his gang of supporters than I would have been able to stand without lashing out.

Like you I will be relieved when this election is over. Of course, I don't expect it to end next Tuesday because of the new quaint tradition of challenging every result against Democrats.

I got hit by a couple of the McNerney volunteers as well. My wife wasn't home, but they did ask for her. They would have been disappointed either way.
