Saddam Hussein's defence team urged a delay on Friday of his possible death sentence and said the ousted Iraqi leader believed Sunday's expected verdict was timed to boost President George Bush before U.S. mid-term elections.

If you hadn't been allowed to pull all of your dumb courtroom antics, you'd have been sentenced and executed months ago, so perhaps you'd better just be grateful that you're still drawing breath.
