Gregory M. Duckett
Shelby County Election Commission Chairman, Gregory Duckett is Senior Vice President and Corporate Counsel with Baptist Memorial Health Care System. He is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all legal matters affecting the organization. Additionally, he is responsible for Risk Management and Corporate Compliance.
Prior to joining the Baptist Memorial Health Care System in January of 1992, Mr. Duckett served as Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Memphis under former Mayor Dick Hackett.
Mr. Duckett served as Director of Memphis Housing and Community Development from 1988 to 1991. He was state counsel to United States Senator Albert Gore, Jr., from 1985 to 1987.
Mr. Duckett was selected to serve on the Clinton-Gore transition team, evaluating approximately 40 agencies as part of Housing and Urban Development and working on personnel issues.
Maura Black Sullivan
A lifelong Memphian, Maura Black Sullivan is employed by Shelby County Schools heading the department of Research and Planning. This department generates statistics covering every aspect of student life, develops and administers surveys, oversees research projects, and plans for the future development of the system by projecting student enrollment trends and forecasting the need for additional classroom and facility space.
Prior to joining Shelby County Schools, Maura was privileged to work in the offices of the Memphis City Council, US Congressman Harold Ford, Jr., and Mayor Bill Morris. She has also worked with Harold Ford and Company, the University of Memphis, and the Shelby County Juvenile Court.
Active in the community, Maura has served as President of the Shelby County Democratic Women, Vice Chair and Assistant Treasurer of the local Democratic Party, Secretary of the Board of Shelby County Headstart, Inc., Vice Chair of Strategic Planning for the Junior League of Memphis, and Chairman of Ptolemy, a social organization. She has also served on boards and committees for the Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Variety Club of Memphis.
Mrs. Sullivan holds a B.A. and a M.A. from the University of Memphis in International Relations and Public Administration and attended the University of Memphis School of Law.
