It would probably be of no interest as a hand-me-down to allies because of the intensive maintenance. Underneath the skin it is mostly standard F-15 and F-16 parts. I would think Japan would be interested in a squadron of these. Perhaps the Israelis could also use them too.

I'd love to give Japan, Taiwan, and Israel some of our old nuclear missile subs that are mothballed, too. Those countries could use a good second-strike capability.

I heard there was an F22 test result where they could drop bombs on target from outside the range of any SAM known to the military.

I guess the Air force will keep a few handy in mothball storage ( just like the F-14 Tomcat ) just in case it's needed,,, but,, the whole fleet is retired.

The F-117 is too much of a niche aircraft.Range is about average,bare minimum warload & no air to air capability.
