Keith Olbermann's arrogance and pomposity have reached unbelievable heights this year. But he sets a new bar with this ten minute rant against President Bush (and John McCain) and in defense of John Kerry's "botched joke" from the other day.
It's telling that Olbermann starts his screed against Bush by arrogantly assserting, as Kerry did in his "I apologize to no one" speech the other day, that anyone who might have misinterpreted Kerry's words or taken them at face value is either a total moron or completely evil. "The context was unmistakable" Oblermann says, adding that there was "no interpretation required." Really? Is that why millions of Americans, including many U.S. troops from all around the world were offended by Kerry's remarks? But, of course, Keith Olbermann is clearly much smarter than all those people who were "too stupid" to get Kerry's lame joke - even though he "botched" it.
That's exactly the sort of elitist attitude that Americans hate, whether it's coming from a stuck up Senator from Beacon Hill or a stuffed shirt former sports broadcaster who now fancies himself the reincarnation of Edward R. Murrow. Here's the whole ten minutes of Olbermann's unadulterated arrogance, if you can stomach it:

And the sound of the tree crashing made more sense.
"Maybe I should start a bail-raising effort now."
Put me down for $50.
Not gonna watch it, not gonna piss on Olberman if he were on fire either.
Not to worry. Olbermann will be out of a job by the end of this year.
MSNBC is cutting way back, and Olby will not survive the cuts. His ratings are in the toilet.
LOL! Thanks. And I'll need a lawyer. IS THERE A LAWYER IN THE HOUSE? (shades of Trading Places?)
"This thing is unbelievable. MSNBC needs to get Olberman some help."
why?????
olberman and chrissey mathews ratings are at the bottom of the toilet bowl ....they stink some much...they ain't even floating!!!!
"Who is this 'Olbermann' you speak of?"
Fecal matter that grew eyes and became employed by the MSM as a political broadcaster - because he apparently wasn't smart enough to cover SPORTS....
Bump to puke later.
And no one heard. I guarantee you that, right now, there are more people listening to the WWV time signal (at 5000 Khz) on short-wave radio than are watching MSNBC.
"They're coming to take me away, ha ha ,hee hee -to the funny farm...."
The ghost of Howard Beal.
Mmmm! $hit sandwiches!
Keith should be totally ignored. He's like some monster who feeds on hate.
He feeds on his own hate and also the hate of those who hate him.
If he is ignored, he will disappear into a small pile of stuff ... watch where you are walking.

Take It From an Olbermann Fan
Ive become an occasional visitor to your site in typical lets what the other guys are talking about fashion. I consider myself the typical, what you would call angry raging leftist and youre right on about Keith. Despite the CW about liberal media, I have a hard time finding any, especially in radio/TV (I mean, cmon, I live in NYC metro and its Hannity, OReilly, Limbaugh, Levin, Scarborough, Savage and on and on....). Watching Olbermann over the past few months (and I was a fan going back to him and Craig Kilborn re-inventing sports anchors on SportsCenter) hes become so good it usually either brings a smile to my face or tears to my eyes. Someone out there understands how many of us feel and isnt afraid to scream it out loud, especially these Special Comments. And, yes, though I didnt vote for Nader, Ive bought all of Mr. Moores books and seen all his movies. I know you guys like to minimize him, but there are plenty of us out here anxiously awaiting his next Special Comments and e-mailing them to each other all over the country. Of course you disagree with him, but youre right not to discount his growing popularity and influence. Right now, we dont have many in the political arena speaking for us (maybe Feingold and Dean), so we tune in to Stewart, Colbert, Rich, Franken, Moore, et al to get our progressive fix.
Olbermann is channeling Howard Beale.

Re: Krazy Keith Ratings [Tim Graham]
John, I think Olbermann needs to be taken seriously. He is the nations televised face of sneering, drooling Bush hatred. Olbermanns October has been a festival of long and feverish commentaries, repeatedly sending the message that were presently living under a terrorist and a dictator. Hes claimed "the leading terrorist group in this country right now is the Republican Party." That the Bush team have institutionalized the terrorizing of the opposition. True domestic terror. Even talking about 9/11 is described as gruesome, intentional, terroristic invocations yesterday of the horrors of 9/11. Olbermann is so feverish even Laura Bush is evil, as the First Lady silently sticks the knife in Michael J. Fox's back.
This makes CNNs Crossfire look like The Wiggles. But I cant imagine Jon Stewart will put on his injured-citizen face and plead with Keith to stop the madness.
Comparing Olbermann to dogpiles is an insult to dogpiles everywhere...
