I'm sorry, but I was under the impression that abortion was permissable under rape and incest, and that seems to be how these were carried out. Quite frankly, I don't understand what Mr. Kline is looking for here. Scoring political points with pro-lifers at the expense of what's in the best interests of the mother and her child sounds pretty low.
The point is that the crime of rape or incest was never reported. Essentially, by providing the abortion and quietly filing away the records, the abortionists covered up for the adults who were guilty of the sexual abuse of minors.
This is a major problem. Any other health professional or professional of any kind would be up on charges for not reporting an obvious case of child molestation that had come to their attention in the performance of their professional duties. But not abortionists, even though if someone brings in a pregnant 10 year old, it is obvious that a crime has been committed. In fact, in many states, abortionists are exempt from the record-keeping requirements of other medical field personnel and never have to reveal even the scanty records they do keep, unlike real doctors and other medical professionals.
The objective is to find the perp and bring him to justice.
