Do you think a company based in another COUNTRY should own, operate, and collect money for a road that runs across the state of Texas, and into the heartland of the country of the United States of America?
The state of Texas will own the road. It will be leased to Cintra, which will fund the building of the road and collect tolls to get their money back, plus some profit. The lease is currently projected to last 50 years.
I have no problem with it unless you think all other countries in the world that US companies do business with should not allow similar operations.
"It is a mystery to me why... it is regarded as a sign of Japanese strength and American weakness that the Japanese find it more attractive to invest in the U.S. than Japan. Surely it is precisely the reverse - a sign of U.S. strength and Japanese weakness."
