The sharks-or are they Swift Boats?-are circling. Republicans are feverishly seizing on Sen. John Kerry's remark about President Bush's Iraq policies and trying to distort it into a slap against U.S. troops in order to sway voters in next week's elections.
The Massachusetts Democrat apologized for his statement yesterday, but he needn't have, because he said nothing to offend soldiers or veterans.

The Tennessean is a huge supporter of Harold Ford.
I wonder if Ford will ask the Tennessean to apologize to the troops ?

Ultimately, the "I was tired," and "I misspoke," denials have fallen flat. Just come right out a lie.

but he needn't have, because he said nothing to offend soldiers or veterans. Really? Now that the picture with the soldiers with the "stuck in Iraq" banner has been seen nationally I think it is safe to say that Skerry's joke failed the global test.

Dear newsbusters:
You go to school, you study hard, try to be smart. Because if you're not, you end up defending insulting elitist snobs like kerry!

Newsbusters is a CONSERVATIVE site. They are "exposing liberal bias."

Who are we supposed to believe. Video of Kerry saying what he said, or his apologizers.

It ain't October anymore, but this is the ultimate Oct suprise. Every democrat is now on the hotseat to either rupudiate Kerry (as they should) or support his lame excuse (as they are doing). Sure it was a dumb freudian slip...but it is just hillarious.

I just sent a scathing letter to the Tennessean - it's becoming a weekly habit for me.

Of course if the first black southern Senator since reconstruction is from your state AND A DIM, the national press will be all over asking the local guys about him. Someone local might get noticed and get an offer to move up to the big leagues of Dying Media. So naturally they are all for Ford and against Corker.
