Ethanol is big business in Minnesota. So is E85 fuel, a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent petroleum. Many official state vehicles now use that fuel and more E85 vehicles are coming on the market all the time.
So it was surprising when one candidate for statewide office seemed to have little--if any--knowledge of E85.
DFL Lt. Gov. candidate Judi Dutcher campaigned around the state Tuesday. When she got to Alexandria, a local television reporter from KSAX asked her about E85.

Whether or not you believe in ethanol, I believe that any candidate for higher office should at least know what the hell it is...right?!
Judi Dutcher (a former Republican too) looks not ready for prime time.
I hope there's time enough for Pawlenty's campaign to exploit this issue in the rural areas of Minnesota.

"This is hilarious! Watch the video of the interview too!"
She definitely had that "deer in the headlights" look. What an idiot!
Somebody ought to ask her about tax cuts. Maybe she'll explode out of confusion.
Ok, if you say so!
She needs to go on a diet. Not feed at the public trough.
FRWEE REPUBLIC'S
FRWEE?
Calling the speling police...calling the speling police..officer officer ARREST that man!
Tax cuts to a democrat are like sunlight to a vampire.
E85 is electoral pimpjuice for both parties in this state.I thought E85 was part of their religion. To not know what it is can only mean you're living in a cave.
Generally I distrust reporters but it's nice to see this one didn't make it easy for Judi.
Bravo to the Reporter!
HATCH IN MELTDOWN, SAID PAWLENTY IS PICKING ON A WOMANHatch is in complete meltdown:
"The governor is so desperate, he's so far behind," Hatch said. 'He's picking on a woman.'
In a conference telephone call with reporters, Pawlenty said the issue has nothing to do with Dutchers gender.
"If you want to be governor or lieutenant governor of an agriculture state that leads the nation in renewable energy, you have to be on top of these issues," Pawlenty said. Source: Forum, November 2, 2006

I'd pay a dollar to see that.
why did Hatch let Judi out of the kitchen in the 1st place?
Yowza, I just watched the 6:30 news on KSTP, and it showed Hatch telling reporters that Mr. Hubbard is a political hack. Hmm...You wouldn't think it smart for a gov candidate to insult a major media figure in the TC. Hatch comes across as mean.
Let's keep this story going!
