"Knife Found on Plane, Flight Delayed 3 hours"
Pittsburgh Tribune Review

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A US Airways flight bound for Charlotte, N.C. was delayed for more than three hours Sunday night after a passenger found a small knife on the floor under the seat in front of him, an airline spokesman said.

Flight 1897 was scheduled to leave at 7:35 p.m. The pilot declared the plane, a 737-400, a "threatened aircraft," shortly after pushing away from the gate, airport spokeswoman JoAnn Jenny said.

The plane returned to the gate, where the 142 passengers were taken off the plane to be screened again. The plane also was re-checked."

"Italy Arrests 13 in Crackdown on Mafia"
Nov 10th - 10:48am

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "ROME (AP) - Police said Friday they have arrested 13 people, including a judge accused of ties with the Mafia, as part of a crackdown on organized crime in southern Italy.

The arrests were carried out in pre-dawn raids in Cosenza, Reggio Calabria, Vibo Valentia and in other cities of the Calabria region in southern Italy, where the 'ndrangheta crime syndicate is active.

The judge, who worked in the courthouse of Vibo Valentia, is accused of corruption and ties with a Mafia family active in the area, said Rodolfo Ruperti, chief of the town's police."
