Chad State of Emergency
U.S. Embassy N'djamena issued the following Warden Message on November 27:

On November 27, there were no further confirmed reports of rebel movements toward N'Djamena. The Chadian military has reinforced the capital and surrounding areas, and continues to control Abéché. International flights to and from N'Djamena are following their regular schedules.

Americans are still urged to stay indoors after dark, and avoid non-essential travel around N'Djamena for the coming days. American citizens should check their emergency preparedness by having essential belongings (valid travel documents, available currency, essential medical supplies, stocks of food and water) prepared in advance, and that they monitor all modes of communication for the latest security information. Americans should continue to refrain from traveling to Eastern Chad.

Americans are also urged to exercise caution when traveling anywhere in the country, and to continue to register with the Embassy for updated information on travel and security in the region at http://travel.state.gov.
