Does he wonder what he did to Lexington? (David Parker libeled again)
Lexington Minuteman ^ | October 19, 2006 | Jon Dreyer

Posted on 11/01/2006 6:53:17 PM PST by lexfreedom

David Parker had clearly made the big time as he joined a who's who of the religious right, including Tony Perkins (Family Research Council), James Dobson (Focus on the Family), convicted Watergate burglar Chuck Colson, Gary Bauer, Mitt Romney, and a host of others, at the so-called "Liberty Sunday" event.

I wonder, as he soaked in his standing ovation, whether he thought about his town -- our town -- that he and the Wirthlins sued collectively, or his kid's teacher, or our school administration, which they also sued individually. I wonder if he thought about all the time, money and peace of mind this lawsuit has cost all of them and us, or how much better off our children would be if the defendants (our school staff) could have spent those resources on teaching.

I wonder whether he thought about the lies that got him there: about how he was arrested for his views (he was actually arrested for trespassing), about how his kid was beaten up for his views (it was actually a minor playground scuffle between friends over lunchroom seating), and so on.

I wonder if he thought about the bigger lie that underpinned the whole event as well as the lawsuit: the truly bizarre claim that "The expansion of non-discrimination laws to include homosexuality inevitably constricts our right to express and act on our religious beliefs."

I wonder whether he's really thought about what it would mean for the public schools to be held responsible for protecting every parent's religious worldview from the real world. I wonder whether he's thought about why, of all the religious views he holds that must be in conflict with public school curricula, he is so focused on homosexuality.

I wonder whether he realizes whether he and the rest of the audience are simply taken for chumps by money-hungry televangelists and the money-and-vote-hungry Republican party as a constituency that is self-selected for credulity and for obeying, and sending money to, their religious leaders.

I wonder.

Perhaps the school staff should have thought about that before they starting pushing the homosexual agenda on young children.

Wow, just wow.

The hate is just dripping off the page. Incredulous! How can these people say these things with a straight face (no pun intended) This school has no defense. Mr. Parker isn't asking them to let his son pray, he isn't asking them to read to the kids from a Bible. Lord all these parents want is that there children, who should be innocent of all such matters, be allowed to be just that. That they not be exposed to deviant behavior, lifestyles the parents to not approve of, lifestyles that cause trauma, heartache, serious health risks, and even death.

These parents want only what all parent want or should want.

simply taken for chumps by money-hungry televangelists and the money-and-vote-hungry Republican party

It's always nice when they fly their colors, so we can see who they really are.

This guy, who was trying so hard to sound reasonable, became a flaming anti-Christian, anti-conservative bigot in his final lines.

I wonder what would have ahppened if the school had just been a little more accomodating to David Parker's family? Mr. Parker was never trying to have the school change anything it did; he only wanted to be notified so that his son could be removed for that day, and not be affected by the pro-homosexual silliness going on at the school.

This mess was created by people like Mr. Dreyer who wanted to force everyone to do as THEY wished. It's not Mr. Parker's fault it has gone this far. I pray that he and his family have the strength to continue to stand against the school and the other parents.

Lexington was once the origin of the spark of liberty and independence. Somewhere along the way, the Jon Dreyers of the world made it their home and made it their goal to destroy all vestiges of that spark. Of course, Massachusetts once was home to leaders and patriots and men of honesty, character, and integrity, but somewhere along the way, things went terribly wrong, and now it spews forth trash like Kerry and Kennedy...

1. So the "religious worldview" has nothing to do with the "real world". Aggressive atheism on display.

2. Anyone who opposes the homosexual agenda is immediately suspect....as in, "Hmmm, why are you so focused on homosexuality, hmmm????"

IOW, we're supposed to take it and shut up. That's what they used to tell women about rape.

IOW, we're supposed to take it and shut up.

C'mon, lj, get with the program. You should know better than to think for yourself. Just let the radical homosexual activists tell you what you're supposed to think and believe and everything will be fine. </sarcasm>.

The gall of Jon Dreyer is incredible.

Okay, you convinced me. Where's the trail of footprints I'm supposed to follow, and could you hand me the script?

Oh wait, I don't have a TV so I don't have access to the script.

Nice new tagline, btw!

As far as it depends on you...

More news at www.massresistance.com

It has turned into a federal civil rights lawsuit.

Who will be able to guide the moral upbringing of the children? The parents? Or will the judges find that the gay rights activists have a "right" to indoctrinate and recruit children?
