OSLO, Norway, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Cat Stevens will make a rare appearance next month at a concert in Norway to be held in connection with the Nobel Peace Prize.
Stevens, who was popular in the 1970s and now goes by the Muslim name Yusuf Islam, will appear at the Dec. 11 Nobel Peace Concert in Oslo.
The singer, whose hits include "Moonshadow," who also wrote, "The First Cut is the Deepest." He made news recently when he somehow popped up on the U.S. no- fly list. Islam denied any connections to terrorist groups.
CBS described the lineup for show as "eclectic." Among the performers will be Lionel Richie, Wynona, Simply Red and Egypt's Hakim. The Nobel Peace Concert is slated to be held the day after the Nobel Peace Prize is formally presented to Muhammad Yunus of Bangladesh.
Well.....I guess it is a wild world.
Whoop-tee-doo...the crooked ex-Gov of IL was also nominated and he's on the way to the pokey.
another has-been seeking relevance
Islam denied any connections to terrorist groups.
OK?! (yes, I know that's his new name, it's just a funny line.)
I burnt his records after he sided with the Ayatola regarding murdering Mr. Rushdie.
Cool! Maybe they can have him sing that while showing video of Daniel Pearl being beheaded! Ahh those nutty nutty practitioners of peace!
Joe Islam?
Yikes. Lame ass gay-o-rama.
And that concludes my music review.
Now I mixed that up with Snoopy being Joe Cool and I picture beagle ears dropping out of the headgear! It could take a while to get that image out of my head. LOL
Having a man who called for the death of Salman Rushdie appear at the Nobel Peace Concert...makes perfect sense.
That's a funny name.
"name" = line
I'm looking over a Moon-batto
If Islam has its way: Where will the children play?
He ain't kidding.
Isn't this the bozo who publicly announced that the death sentence fatwa laid on Salman Rushdie was entirely justified because Rushdie 'disrespected the prophet'?
Their going for a target audience. Apparently, Lionel Richie is very popular in Libya.
