With the media machine of the political right attacking him over his remark about Americans "stuck in Iraq," and President Bush calling it "shameful," Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., on Tuesday reacted with fury and defiance.
"I'm not going to sit around and let these guys create a phony controversy," said the Democrats' 2004 presidential nominee, faulted for not firing back while the Swift Boat controversy burned his candidacy.
Kerry was in Seattle to do a fundraiser for Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., and afterward he sat down for a lengthy interview. The words that tumbled out of him were not the apology demanded by Bush.

Ha! He's not going to sit around, but by golly he's going to have a few appearances with Dem candidates cancelled.

I'd do it myself, but DU gives me a rash...

I can usually tell, but...is that a Photoshopped image? It looks real. Look at the shadows the banner throws on their legs and ground

The senator's remark was amplified in the right wing's media echo chamber, from the Drudge Report Web site to the Fox News Channel to the White House briefing room.Accusations of bias? From the P-I?????????????

If he would have just apologized to the troops, this would have gone away already.

The point that needs to be made is Kerry's remarks disparaged members of the military from Democrat families just as much as Republicans.
Many Democrat parents have sons and daughters serving honorably - they should be just as mad at Kerry as we on the right.

Well at least now we can believe that Kerry really was in Vietnam, because he's obviously still there.

Hey he can blame othersoffended by his words or the one who supidly opened his mouth in the firstplace.
That should be an easy call--at least for those reasonably well educated.
Other the other hand the chances are good that John F'N Kerry will make matters much worse for himself and the other RATS if he keeps yacking.

Yep, instead of apologizing--he keeps on SPEWING HIS ANGER, HATE and VENOM.
While he continues to try to pass off a 'bald faced' LIE (his pathetic 'joke' story)--his utter CONTEMPT for the military keeps getting more attention.
Keep the ARROGANCE, HATE AND ANGER coming John!....lol
