MEMPHIS Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Harold Ford Jr. issued a statement this morning calling on U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., to apologize for comments that Republicans including President Bush contend disparage U.S. troops in Iraq.
Whatever the intent, Senator Kerry was wrong to say what he said, Rep. Ford said. He needs to apologize to our troops.
But Rep. Ford, who served as an honorary co-chairman of Sen. Kerrys 2004 failed presidential bid, said that the senators words dont alter the fact that the stay-the-course strategy pursued by President Bush and supported by Bob Corker isnt working. We need a new direction in Iraq. I know how hard our troops work, and the sacrifices they make, for our freedoms. They deserve a plan for victory as good as they are, and as senator I intend to see they get one.

Yesterday, John Kerry just lost this election for the Demcrats.
Can't wait till Nov. 8 when the DUmmies figure it out and turn on him.
Yep, his arrogance and elitism was on display for ALL to see.
Ford needs to apologize for impersonating a human being.
Last numbers I saw on the Ford race was Corker 56% - Ford 44%..
I guess Ford thinks he has nothing to LOSE by calling out Kerry..and USING it to bash Bush...and the troops by yet again saying they are doing things good enough in Iraq..
THAT is what this all boils down to....if "we" aren't winning in Iraq...and ALL of the dems say so...then who is doing the "fighting and losing"? Bush, NO...the troops!
Ouch. Kerry is causing panic to set in.
I love Kerry's excuse making. If he apologized immediately, he might have been able to escape with non-lethal injuries. But all he's done is rub salt in the wound, and he's exposed himself, to all but the moonbats, as a shameless liar.
"Let Canada take care of North Korea. They're not busy."
Yes to all of the above. And none of it turned up good.
Yup. It's all good. Thanks John!
It's not just you....It's a scramble to get in one of the Titanic's lifeboats, even if you have to dress as a woman.
Ford just took about $1 million from Kerry and Kennedy less than a month ago. Think he will give it back now?
Well done.
"Ouch. Kerry is causing panic to set in."
No doubt. Ford knows it's too late to apologize now, he's just trying to distance himself from all the people that luch has offended.
The rest should be smart and do the same.
Yeah?
Kerry COME DOWN!
Kerry COME DOWN!
Kerry COME DOWN!
"I hope Tennessee doesn't fall for this charade."
I asked on a thread last night what might Sgt York's Tennessee think about this, and what would Harold Ford, Jr. do about it?
Now I know.
..............orchestrates the demand for the Dem's leadership to follow Ford's lead ....................
"Ted Kennedy, the senior senator (D) Mass, when questioned about the Kerry flap, decided to stay out of the news, and just ordered another scotch. Yet, under his foul breath he could be heard muttering "Stupid baaastaaard"
/sarc
AS predicted, the list of election-year Dems throwing Kerry under the bus grows.
