Not only was Kerry's comments an insult to our military and their families, it was also a huge dig (unreported) at anyone who decides to forego college and enter the workplace out of high school. In effect, "Don't go to college, and your stupid." Doesn't look like the Democrat 2004 standard-bearer is working hard for the "working man," does it?
Sounds a bit elitist, doesn't it? Every Dem candidate should be asked to tell Kerry to apologize not only to soldiers, but to every blue-collor worker in America

Only a complete moron or blithering idiot would believe Kerry's transparent, bogus, and phoney explanation of a 'botched joke' (given Kerry's own grades in college being no better than Bush's).
But then again, those two 'groups' make up the most solid portion of the democratic base--so I guess his totured explanation (flat-out lie, actually) WILL serve its purpose, of RALLYING THE BASE!
The unPatriots in the MSM are not above lying about anything.
Oh, I'm hip to that, but in the case of spelling "forgo" (meaning "abstain from") as "forego" there's a different word with that spelling (meaning "precede").
OH well. A little pedantry loosens up the brain for the coming day -- or, in my case, for the day most of which I have wasted on FR.
And if you do accept Kerry's version of the "joke" that would imply that if you don't study hard, you will be President.
That makes no sense.
Maybe Kerry should try telling his 'so-called' jokes in French from now on--
so that the true meaning could not possibly be misconstued!
I would like Kerry to explain, then, how you can become a US senator with college grades as bad as his (or Bush's). It just proves his explanation is a blatant lie.
His efforts to reach into his bottomless bag of phoney, lame, and pathetic explanations for that slander on the military is even more patronizing and insulting.
Well, that and the fact that he was turned down for a student deferment to do graduate work in France (he'd already had four for college). If he didn't sign up, he would have been drafted into the Army, which was doing the heavy lifting in Vietnam at the time. So he enlisted in the Navy -- his bad luck that they decided to shift Navy troops to Vietnam.
Maybe Kerry will now support SCHOOL VOUCHERS for members of our military--
as a way to finally educate our men and women in uniform.
