Oh, but Trent Lott's remark to Strom Thurmond was considered so outrageous he had to resign.

I hate the media.

“What happened today is an object lesson in how in this day and age, an idle political remark gets seized upon, becomes fodder for the talk shows, the blogs, and the politicians, and suddenly obscures discussion of all other issues

And this is a new development, huh? Brand new? Didn't happen in, say, the '80s. Anyone remember Pres Reagan saying "Facts are stupid things". He obviously misspoke, and corrected himself right away. How long was the media harping on that one?

You have to use some pretty pretzeled logic...

My ex has that... and she says Kerry purposely insulted the troops.

And those with military experience know that the first thing a good officer learns is to pay attention to and heed the advice of their senior enlisted personal, who have been around the block and know the score. Kerry reminds me of some officers I ran across in my 18 years in the navy who would not be able to wipe themselves unless an enlisted man showed him how.

But some in the MSM would much rather poke fun at President Bush's pronunciation of nuclear.

I remember Jimmy Carter used the same pronunciation, with no MSM commentary.

Kerry's not the only DemoRAT that thinks ill of the fine men and women of our Military. Harold Ford, JR thinks they are OIL COPS! BTW his only support for energy is ethenol..his enviro votes tend toward the green agenda.

Project Vote Smart

2001 Representative Ford supported the interests of the American Coalition for Ethanol 100 percent in 2001.

I dunno, Charlie, why don't we ask Trent Lott? Senator Lott, do you have any words on how Republicans are treated by the drive by media over "idle political remarks"?

Excellent point!! Republicans make off the cuff, idle political remarks, and they are crucified. Dems do it, and we should let it slide!!
