U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, made the following statement regarding Senator John Kerrys recent remarks disparaging members of the U.S. military.
The members of the United States armed forces are the best trained, best equipped and best educated fighting force in the world, and it is shameful that a senior Democrat Senator would make them the butt of an apparent joke at a political rally. Sadly, this is not the first time Senator Kerry has disparaged the men and women in our military. Less than two years ago, he accused our troops of terrorizing Iraqi children remarks not dissimilar to his Vietnam-era testimony before the Senate in 1971. No one is lying about or distorting Senators Kerrys remarks as he would have us believe. Senator Kerrys remarks yesterday were clear and they were shameful. He owes the brave men and women in our military a very sincere apology.
BTTT!
The orchestra is starting its symphony. By the end of the week it should be an overture for the GOP!
And, he is one of THE BEST Senators!!!!!!!
I simply love him as a Senator......
AMEN!
if they had a message, they will be knocked off of it for the next few days.
The "other Republican senator" from every Senate battleground state should issue a similar statement or press blurb or comment.
The challenge must follow to reject Kerry's comments. And the challenge must be pressed.
Screw the apology, it would just be an insincere lie. Throw the fool under the bus. I say he needs to RESIGN!
Agreed. It seems to me that John Cornyn went to the Senate with the right idea: vote conservative and get stuff done.
Where is the outrage from the Democratic Party??
Ooops, I forgot--they ALL despise the military and never miss an opportunity to slander our men and women in uniform.

Absolutely.
As a resident of Leftifornia, I wish he were one of my Senators.
It would be delicious if this poser putting his silver foot in his mouth would turn the tide of the election.
Plus, they're going to have to either support Kerrys stupid rationalization about it being a "botched joke", or make up their own defense. Either way, it's all good (for us).
The notion that anyone other than hardcore lefties and the MSM would buy Kerrys version just proves how out of touch he is.
Already, an Iowa Democrat has told Kerry he's not welcome. There will be more!
Apologize? No, he needs to resign!
More reasons to LOVE the Lone Star State.....and this sentiment comes from a perpetually ashamed resident of the People's Republic of Washington State.
It seems that whenever I see anything about Texas posted here at FR, it's always good news of some kind. I would love to visit one day, and perhaps more.
"sigh"
Kerry is too arrogant and above the people to apologize for anything. Besides, what he said is all Bush's faullt.
Kerry closed the door on any apology being taken as valid now.
Kerry was obviously taken to the woodshed - and given the dims spin "talking points" on this - he won't be allowed out in public again until after the election. (I hope tahreeezah has a good stock of soaked raisins.)
Anyone with any sense of shame, or any conscience--WOULD apologize and resign.
Unfortunately, Kerry will do neither--since he has neither.
I think this country has about had enough of his anti-military crap. Enough is enough.
In the vernacular of the residents of my beloved state, "Y'all Come!"
