Did John Kerry (D-Mass.) help himself in his Seattle news conference this afternoon to explain his astonishing remarks yesterday which sounded like an elitist shot at the intelligence of members of the U.S. military serving in Iraq? Short answer: no.
An angry Kerry tried to give his supporters and Democrats something to fight back with when he said: My statement yesterday, and the White House knows this full well, was a botched joke about the president and the presidents people, not about the troops.
If anyone thinks that a veteran, someone like me whos been fighting my entire career to provide for veterans to fight for their benefits, to help honor what their service is, if anybody thinks that a veteran would somehow criticize more than 140,000 troops fighting in Iraq and not the president and his people who put them there, theyre crazy. Its just wrong .
But heres the problem. In his moment of high dudgeon, he may have made matters worse. It probably wasnt a good idea to accuse everyone who saw the video of his campaign appearance and thought he was disparaging the IQ of U.S. troops of being crazy.

Astonishing.
Kerry wasn't born to wealth. His father married a Forbes, social name, not a lot of money. His Forbes relatives paid his prep school and college fees.
He has never held a regular job in the private sector. His first marriage was to a wealthy socialite who divorced him, and at one point sued him, or filed against him for non-payment of child-support.
He married the rich widow of John Heinz.
Howie Carr, Boston Herald columnist and Boston radio talk show host calls Kerry, America's most successful gigolo.
Teddy Kennedy shepherded Kerry through his unsworn Vietnam lies before the U.S. Senate in the 1970 s and then engineered his appointment to junior senator for life.
You need a haz-mat suit to wade through the bog of Massachusetts poilitics. Massachusett's is the home of The Big Dig. You cannot embarrass these people.
This is an unbelievable mistake.

Kerry's tortured explanation? I was making fun of Bush's lack of education. Hmmmm, Bush has a Harvard MBA, while you Senator Kerry have a bachelor's degree. So how could you POSSIBLY have been making fun of Bush's education which is superior to your own? Nice try loser
"Attention all liberals: This is what you almost put in the White House?"
"Sen. Kerry has a history of saying unfortunate things and then not being able to explain them, because they are inexplicable,'' Green said.
So, two years after his Pres. run, the paper remarks that Kerry has "a history" of this type of behavior? And, in 2004, unquestionably being aware of this "history," the Chicago Tribune - along with most of the media - supported him? That says it all.
He is as crazy as a shithouse rat. The forst thng that came to mind when he melted down was "Thank God he didn't get elected president!".
"But there is something ominously wrong with a democratic nation that protects its affluent youth from harm, and from service, while putting disadvantaged young people into a meat grinder overseas. There is something disturbing about a nation that beats the drum of patriotism but lets its most privileged young people believe that military service is for losers." - Gary Chapman, REGULAR CONTRIBUTOR Monday, November 07, 2005
Don't tell us that the left hasn't been immersed in this thinking for YEARS.
Yes. I'm cross-posting this all over the place...but there ya go.
Kerry just destroyed his chance to run in 2008. Fine with me. One less idiot Democrat running the better.
that's right..apologize to the troops for making it sound like they were unintelligent, then explain he goofed on the joke..
by the way, our troops are so stupid, according to kerry, there is no way they can interpret satellite photos, spot a bad guy, notify jets who reroute, program the bomb and fire away..all in 20 minutes..I for one wouldn't want to be a bad guy fightin these "stupid" americans..imagine how things would go if they were "smart"...
I have a question:
Does anyone know the quote (Stalin?) about a lie told often enough will be believed?

Statement of John Kerry Responding to Republican Distortions, Pathetic Tony Snow Diversions and Distractions
Washington Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerrys comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:
If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. Im sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.
Im not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Foxs Parkinsons disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.
The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.
Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because theyre afraid to debate real men. And this time it wont work because were going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.
Why not? I personally think the press release is more unbalanced than even his harangues. Yet not one story that I have found has been devoted to it --- I am not sure that I have seen it even explicitly mentioned.
Nor have the implications of having a second Howard Dean in the Democratic party been mooted yet, though it would seem to me to be an obvious topic for the MSM.

He's completely unhinged...as are his advisors.

So true.
Thanks, it's worth posting again
Any patriot who thinks it would be alright for the dems to take over either house ought to think again.
