If I were Bush, I'd start my response by running a tape of Kerry's 1971 statement before Congress.

and all the other comments he's made showing his disrespect for the military, like the "terrorizing women and children" in Iraq etc. This just reenforces what a jerk this man is.

Every republican on every talk show should voice this demand and be outraged that a U.S. Senator would make such a comment during a time of war. This reaction should be non-stop even into 2007 and 2008. A collage of Kerry quotes should be put together. This man has to be ruined!

I can see that one might construe what I wrote as an indictment of the president. It was not intended as such. I could have been more simple.

You have it right though.

There is a case to be made that the Pres has been a bit too "gentlemanly" with the scummy press corps, but i was posting while actually watching and listening to the speech. I was not trying to nuance in any fashion.

Liberals and democrats are in their natural environment when they are spewing their passionate hate, venom and disdain for the US military.

Their inherent CONTEMPT for those in uniform comes through loudly and clearly.

Kerry's words 'came from the heart'--as they did when he libeled our military in Vietnam as war criminals the last time he 'reported for duty'.

The only thing more insulting than his original comments--were his transparent and pathetically patronizing efforts to pass it off as a 'botched joke'. Unbelievable.
