Kerry's joke was directed at him, you can tell if you read Kerry's words in their context. He said what he said, and he meant what he said, even if he meant to say something else.
All the chucklehead had to do was come out today and say "I'm sorry, I screwed up." Instead, he calls Tony Snow a stuffed suit, Rush "doughy" and says the President should apologize instead.
Why should we be disappointed in the President, again?

MSM treat Kerry as a party leader. He was the nominee, he is the spokesperson and he represents not only cut and run but joins Clinton ( another revered leader ) in slandering and disrespecting the military and actively fighting against every tool we're trying to use in the WOT. This party and their nominees shouldn't be anywhere near the office of Commander in Chief.

Kerry wasn't making a "joke" about the President, he was passing along his belief and the belief of most of the liberals that the only people that join the military do so because they have no other choice. He had the chance to apologize and he didn't take it but chose instead to throw fuel on the fire.
President Bush was perfectly right to use this to draw a large target on Kerry as the face of the miitary-hating Democrats. They are too dangerous to put in a position of power.
