It isn't only insulting, it's inaccurate - the services are turning people away and educational standards have never been higher. If Kerry wants to recall a military that had a bunch of mental defectives foisted on it by a government that treated it like a holding facility for future felons, he ought to remember how it was when he was in. I certainly do. Any other vets out there remember McNamara's Cat IV's?

So the mask slips, and underneath Kerry's carefully assumed regard for the troops is a hateful, contemptuous elitist who thinks of the military as a penalty, not an honor. The men and women in it might beg to differ. God bless them all, and Kerry can kiss my DD214. It's in my hip pocket.

Kerry will apologize, say he didn't mean it the way it came out, remind us that he was in the service in Vietnam. He will ignore the fact that he only went in the Navy after he was refused a deferment to continue studies in Paris, and only served in Vietnam because the type of vessel he was on was then assigned for Vietnam duty, which then required three invented Purple Hearts to escape from the assigment and get back to the States.

As a Marine Corps Viet Nam combat veteran, I find everything about John Kerry despicable.

I have personally met many of the Marines serving in Iraq and you could not be prouder of these men. All were PH recipients and many with multiple PH's & multiple tours of combat duty in Iraq!

Kerry is hardly qualified to name himself among the educated and brilliant minds of America. His D's in college prove otherwise. Now if he'd said marrying into money, and being a priveleged elite can get you places - most would understand.

His top score was a 79, in another political science course. Another of his strongest efforts, a 77, came in French class. In addition to Kerry's four D's in his freshman year, he received one D in his sophomore year. He did not fail any courses...
