Jacko was not cleared of any charges. He was found not guilty by a jury.

Being found "not guilty" by a jury equals getting cleared of the charges. Pleading guilty in return for a reduced sentence equals being guilty.

Being found "not guilty" by a jury equals getting cleared of the charges.

Being found "not guilty" by a jury equals the prosecution not providing enough evidence for a jury to vote for a conviction. It is not the same as being cleared of all charges. It means the prosecution did not make its case beyond all reasonable doubt.

Being found innocent by a jury, or the prosecution dropping all charges beforehand because they know the case to be fallacious, is being cleared of all charges.

I used to watch Perry Mason. And Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law.
